Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is located at a small by-pass channel. You can get there by water taxi. The reception makes a very fancy and very well-kept impression. Guests came from Europe and the USA and were between 30 and 60 years old.
The house dates back to the 16th century (!) and was rebuilt into a hotel five years ago.
Location
The hotel is not easy to find, is, however, in a great location not far from the Piazza San Marco. In close range there are many boutiques, restaurants and other shops. The Vaparetto station “San Marco” is reachable on foot within a few minutes.
Staff were attentive and very friendly. The receptionist also spoke very good German. Upon arrival we received many useful suggestions and a map of the city. We also got offered a free boat trip to the glass-making island of Murano. Murano is an absolute must!
Although it was not necessary, towels were daily changed.

We liked the times for breakfast! Late riser breakfast until 11,00 o'clock!
There always were fresh fruit-salad and delicious croissants. The selection of cold meats and cheese was not large, the quality, however, very good. Additional services, such as for instance a scrambled egg or a boiled egg appeared to be very expensive (4-7 euro), and should be inclusive at a four star hotel.
The breakfast area was quite small, however, cosy and clean. Meals were filled up again immediately.

Room
The room was pleasantly large and furnished in the typically Venetian style. (Walls covered in material) unfortunately, the shower screen no longer closed properly. Each time after having had a shower, half the bathroom stood under water. The toilet area is very narrow. Cleanliness was altogether good. The bed had a great mattress!
Tips and recommendations
The hotel is in the “Calle Minelli” (San Marco). This small lane is, however, not registered on any map. Points of orientation are the theatre "La Fenice" or the "San Fantin" church. Then there are signposts to the hotel.
