BBC Gimme a Break Stay in Obergurgl
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe arrived at the Hotel with the BBC. We didn't know where we were staying at this point let alone the resort that we would be staying in. We were blown away when we arrived outside. It was beautiful. Inside the lobby it just kept getting better and better. The rooms were fantastic. It's a pity we were filming as I would've been happy just to stay in the Hotel. My daughter and I set the alarm at 7am so we could go to the spa for an early morning swim, we event ventured in to the outside pool when it was -10 outside. The staff in the Hotel were fabulous, they couldn't have been more helpful, even when we weren't being followed by a film crew. The food was magnificent, we tried the buffet and the a la carte, there really is something for everyone, my children always had plenty to choose from.
Location
The location of the Hotel is right in the centre of Obergurgl. The view from my hotel room was like a picture postcard. There was a little church all lit up. The snow was magnificent and expecially at that time of year. We went toboganing in the next town Hochgurgl.
The service was second to none.
Gastronomy
The overall food was fantastic, fresh and a massive selection.
The atmosphere was always friendly and buzzing. The a la carte restaurant was beautiful, it is the perfect place for that special meal or occasion.
Sport & Entertainment
We didn't get to see any entertainment but the pool was fantastic, we used it every day.
We hired snowboards and kit, and we had no problems. everything was made so simple. We have never been on a winter break before so it can be a bit daunting but they made everything easy to do.
Room
The room was lovely, had everthing you needed. My children stole our double bedroom, they were in charge (gimme a break tv show). But we had no problems at all.
The room and bathroom were frunished to a high standard and were immaculate.
