Hotel Eliros Mare

The hotel area had direct access to the beach. The sandy beach was beautifully wide and clean. There were enough beach chairs (for an extra charge of 3 €) available and since the neighbouring hotels didn't directly border on this hotel, there was much space to all sides.
You could nicely hike at the beach to the next town Georgioupolis (about 45 minutes).
There was also a bus stop 100 m away from the hotel from which you could cheaply drive to the east and the west with the regular bus. There was a small town (Kavros) in the near area with many stores and bars in which you got the most necessary things.

The staff was always friendly and obliging. The tables were always very clean and were constantly cleared respectively newly set.
The bartender Stavros tried especially hard to fulfil all wishes and was alwyas larksome.

The hotel offered all inclusive. The breakfast was good, there were always several kinds of fresh bread and bread rolls and a warm-cold buffet, something for every taste. I found the coffee to be undrinkable, but there was also delicious Nescafe to brew up. You could become sated at lunch and dinner, but the food didn't correspond to 4 stars, few variation, hardly seasoned, was more comparable to the food of a cafeteria. There was fresh fish every day but always the same sort just prepared differently and always dry. The salad and dessert buffets, however, were good. There were enough drinks at the meals, at the pool and at the beach and at the bar, they mixed delicious cocktails in the evenings. Snacks at the beach bar were limited to salads and midnight snacks were sandwiches.

Pool was okay, but we preferred to stay at the beach. There wasn't much entertainment, the entertainer Alex tried hard to creat some atmosphere which was often very difficult since, on the one hand, the music system was a disaster and, on the other hand, some guests turned out to be party killers and complained about everything possible.

Room was spacious and nicely furnished, had fridge, TV with reception of international channels, safe for an extra charge.

We recommend you taking a rental car to scout out the island on your own. (Cheaper and more comfortable than excursions). You should once go to a comfortable tavern in the evening and enjoy the Greek cuisine.
