Hotel Estalagem do Cerro

The beach is about 400 meters away, but must also go uphill to negotiate: The way there was easy, always nice downhill, on the way back you should be able to walk well, since it steep uphill. As Someone who has no lift so good again some work off a few pounds: -) walk will get you into max. 20 Minutes on the beach or in the center of Albufeira. Here there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, all with reasonably priced (large beer 2.50 euros, small 1.50 Euros), and in the evening was always live music.

The staff speak good English, but were very little German, what they really nice though sorry. They were all very friendly, no matter whether reception, maid service, bar, or dine. A broken bulb in the bathroom immediately after complaining, they got exchanged. The room cleaning was ok, I didn't feel that without a tip a bit sloppy cleaned and the towels not be folded and certainly not changed (I need but also not new towels every day!).

We had booked half-board. The restaurant was definitely too small and cramped. Depending on where you sat, walked around 24 people back and forth or but you could not far enough back push chair to even right. You can only choose tables, if you sit faster than the service could see (otherwise you will in twos crammed into a mini-table and not a tables for 4 table). The food was good average. lots of choice, always a fish dish and several meat dishes. A daily changing delicious salad bar and high calorie desserts. Prices for the drinks were ok and will be against signature issued at check out.

No sports possibilities, the pool is located in a courtyard and is very small (for this near to the beach but also not necessary). The evening entertainment was for us only last resort in bad weather.

The rooms are functional and reasonably clean. (You need to use the "corners" overlooks ... ) But the decor is a bit dated. The closet for the minibar was empty unfortunately (no fridge). Safe rental (€7.50 per week + 12 ,50€ deposit). We had 418, a corner room, therefore a large balcony, others are acceptable I much smaller.

Early October the temperature is very pleasant, but unfortunately, we had all our week in October rainy days. But Probably struggles over the day time to time and the sun is coming through. Albufeira is nice and we will gladly stay here again, but rather a little sunk hotel.
