Once Faro, always Faro!! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AIn the hotel all looked beautiful and clean, and it was of course naturally clean. The hotel wasn't only a pure family hotel, which we could really enjoy. There were only a few children there. In the first weeks there was only one child seen in the hotel (at the ca. 200 rooms). In the second week there were a few more, but still in limits.
Many people were middle-aged.
Many German tourists, English and a few Spanish were seen.
As said, it was still at the pool, the level of most of the tourists matched the hotel category.
Location
Perfect location, central in Jandia. As often already mentioned, the first impression was misleading, if one went through the entrance door, one didn't hear anything more from the quite busy street.
In the immediate area, there was everything which one wanted (supermarket, internet, restaurants, bars, stores).
If one was laying at the pool, one didn't notice absolutely anything from that which was all around.
It was recommendable to walk to the location Morro Jable, from the beach down to the promenade. On the beach below just to the right, ca. 40 minutes and one was there. Afterwards one walked left (towards Playa de Esquinzo) was rather not recommendable, which was rather a dreary area.
Morro Jable was a very beautiful location with a good choice of good often national restaurants.
We would describe it as one of the most beautiful locations on Fuerteventuras.
Most of those at the reception and the dining room were very friendly. All understood German very well. The room cleaning was good and regular, mornings.
Gastronomy
Breakfast as well as dinner, was absolutely good. Evenings, there were always many freshly grilled fish offered (mostly 2 different), among them swordfish, sole, croaker, pike, prawns.
The fish was always grilled done, and also deliciously seasoned.
Even the meat dishes were good, but often it happened that a piece wasn't yet done.
The salads were all very delicious, and even served appetizingly.
In the restaurant there was a beautiful still atmosphere, which I thought was due to not many children there. There was soft music playing in the background, and everything seemed classy and clean. The prices for the drinks weren't very high. We had meals for a 0,7l bottle of rosa wine, for ca. 10 Eur. The bottle was in the cooler and was cooled the whole time perfectly.
Sport & Entertainment
The Faro Jandia was not really known for clublike activities. And that was what the tourists wanted. But whoever wanted activities, would have them there. There were daily activities as ping pong, dart and similar offers.
The entertainer 'Georg' did his work very well. In addition there was a tennis court and a billiard table as well as an internet access available.
At the pool it was pleasantly still, and one didn't need to reserve beach chairs, since they were sufficiently available :-).
The pool had 25°, which I thought was nice.
There was also still a wonderful spa area, which had to be tried once, as it was also inclusive in the price.
Room
Very large roms with somewhat large balcony and valuable furniture, with slowly signs of wear.
6 German as well as many international TV programs were available.
A water heater for tea and free tea in the room.
Tips and recommendations
For animal lovers:
In the hotel there were many tame cats. There were two so called cat cafes.
That was a roofed area, where the cats have their food and drinks.
It was to be mentioned that the tourists had to give the cat food, and the Cat Cafe was a feature from the animal protection agency.
In the supermarket there was cheap dry and canned food. In 'Padilla' supermarket in the Morro Jable the selection was larger and above all it was still cheaper.
The cats were all neutered, which one saw on their ears.
We took care of the sweet kittens as long as it was possible for us. We liked it a lot, and it was hard at departure...
We were glad that we had met a nice woman, who promised she would take over the job for a week.
The Cat Cafe was at the pool, where 4 cats lived, and at the tennis court where ca. 8 cats were. The cats didn't change their area, which meant, both areas had to be cared for.
Some were thankful and jumped on our laps, just only sweet...
Still a tip to internet: The hotel cost 6 Eur an hour. If one left the hotel and went left, in about 100m distance, in front of the 'Netto' supermarket in a roofed area of the internet cafe was an area which cost only 2 Eur. One could book it then for only 15 minutes for 0,50 minutes for 0,50 Eur.
The best travel time, we would say was September and October, since it was still summer warm and the ocean still was warm enough temperature for swimming. And the days were still beautifully long.
We were now in the Hotel Faro Jandia for the fifth time, which was for us absolutely no alternative. We only hoped , that the all inclusive tourism didn't stop, but I would be certain that they wouldn't do that, since then they would lose most of their regular tourists.
