Hotel & Gästehaus Schattauer

This year the we went to the swimming pool, for which you can get from the hotel a Salzburger Sportwelt Card which entitles you to a discount for many activities. You can have fun swimming outside ,inside and using the shuts. the hotel is in the middle of Wagrain High Street. The Bank is just 2minutes walk. The best Ski hire and cheapest is across the road. And the hotel print your ski pass!! What more can you want.

When you arrive a member of the family greet you, like long lost friends, you are shown to you room and then around the hotel facility's, I.e. the boot room and the health care centre. Then your allotted table for dinner

The food deserves an extra star. the staff are very courteous. Every night apart from the Austrian night you have a salad buffet, with so much to chose from.
The Austrian night, all the things that you can think of as Austrian are provided. you chase have to stop the staff giving you to much.
It seams that every night we meet some one new and swap stories of the day, or new places to go.

I don't like saunas but in the basement their is a sauna, two jacuzzi s,a steam room and showers, every thing is spotless.
You need to be aware that in Austria it appears that you don't need a swimming costume

Large, lots of cupboard space. and comfy beds.
I like the old idea of having a separate toilet and bathroom. You also have the typical windows that open as a door and tilting so that you can have a bit of fresh air at night.

If your thinking of about what you are going to do with your time after you leave the hotel.and catching your air plane, Salzburg has a wonderful old town and Castle.
And Munich has a wonderful museum both worth spending a few hours.
We fly to Munich from Great Briton, because its the same cost to fly and hire a car. as it is to fly to Salzburg.
You can hand your ski lift pass back to the hotel and not be charged 3 Euro
