A Christmas experience in Engelberg, Switzerland
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Hotel was immaculately clean with lovely amenities. It was just what we were looking for. Not a 'hilton type' but more of a smallish yet intimate style of accommodation. We loved it. It was the highlight of our trip around Europe.
Location
We loved the location which was just perfect for our needs. Nothing is very far in Engelberg so we were happy to be a little out of the central business area with opportunities to walk around and just soak in the Swiss experience.
The staff are really lovely and very welcoming. They helped us arrange a number of activities and provided information on shuttle bus timelables, places to eat etc. We had no complaints whatsoever.
Gastronomy
Breakfast was tasty and really nicely presented. Hygiene and cleanliness were excellent. Wine and beer was available as well. As we were travelling very early on our final day we were given some breakfast to take with us which we really appreciated
Sport & Entertainment
We were not looking for seminar rooms or pools etc. so what was provided suited us perfectly.
Room
Just a delightful place to stay. room, bathroom, dining room etc were clean tidy and verycomfortable. We had a balcony room with fabulous views of the mountains. there was little if any noise to concern us. We had a family room for us and a studio one for our daughter and her partner
Tips and recommendations
Christmas in Switzerland has changed our views of how to spend Christmas. It was just a wonderful experience.
