Nice hotel on the outskirts of Engelberg *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe used the hotel as an overnight stay (for two nights) on the way to Italy.
From the motorway it takes about a half hour in the mountains.
The reservation was made on the Internet and was within the framework for Swiss standards, but not cheap.
The hotel itself is relatively small for the number of rooms. The staff at the front desk was friendly and you got directly tips for the evening to eat go, because the Hotel only offers a bed and breakfast.
The room we were allocated (section 8) was in the first floor, was very large, nice and bright and had a wonderful view of the mountains. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom does not have a window. The room had a very large balcony.
The breakfast was sufficient and delicious.
In the center of Engelberg is a good walk. It is however possible. Therefor one has in the hotel the advantage, that one looked directly at the hotel started to hiking. Nearby are beautiful water falls and beautiful hiking trails, which for beginners on their upward are possible.
In the immediate vicinity (150 meters) there is a nice and fine restaurant, in which one can there was a fantastic assortment of food.
Next to the hotel in about 70 meters away there was a construction site. We were not disturbed thereby; however, they may be, you have ever after construction of noise woke up in the morning.
Otherwise, the hotel is ideal for a one-night stopover, as well as for a longer stay Quite suitable.
