Excellent for a fmaily with young children
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AFamily rooms are excellent as they consist of two large rooms and a bathroom, allowing for that valuable peace and quiet in the evening. Hotel is very clean, with staff out early in the morning to make sure the areas around the pool are spotlessly clean. We went for half board which I think is preferably to all inclusive as the latter would simply involve too much food. Buffets are usually a bit suspect when you've paid in advance but not at the Gloria Palace. The standard is very high and, due to a high percentage of Scandinavians there is a good amount of healthy food available as well. Entertainment provision is very good, especially for smaller children with a number of staff members allocated to running a club for children.
Location
Around 10.15 minutes to the beach. The shopping centre nearby is a dump but the beach itself is fantastic.
We found the staff very friendly and efficient. Róom cleaning is very thorough and the staff seem to thrive on the fact that most guests enjoy staying there. As mentioned above, provision for children is particularly good and includes their own club and a mini disco each evening.
Gastronomy
Buffet restaurant in the evening can be a but hectic, but this is the fault of the guests rather than the hotel. Food quality is excellent both for breakfast and evening dinner. Although a buffet a lot of food is cooked on the spot so you don't have to eat food that has been sitting around. Two sittings in the evening.
Sport & Entertainment
Three pools....none of which felt very busy when we were there even though they maintained the hotel was full. Wireless internet free of charge around the reception area (but not in the rooms). No trouble getting sun chairs or anything like that and there is a nice bar next to main pool.
Room
Family rooms excellent. You benefit by being near to pool area. The only slight disdvantage is that they are next to a road and there is a certain amount of traffic noise in th evening. Safe available for a nominal amount. Tea and coffe making facilities are available and always welcome.
Tips and recommendations
Go anytime of the year as it is warm all year round.
