A fantastic holiday in a luxurious hotel! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe were super positively surprised right from the beginning! A fantastic, luxurious, very, very well-kept, clean and huge hotel! The hotel was fully booked, but we didn't notice that in the hotel area, except during the meal times. Neither the pool nor the beach were overcrowded - on the contrary, we sometimes had big parts of the pool all to ourselves!
We had all inclusive and highly recommend that!
The guest structure: 95% of the guests were Russian. That didn't bother us but wasn't that good for our kids. Unfortunately, they found hardly any kids they could communicate with.
Location
The hotel was separated from the beach just by a river which could be crossed on the hotel's own wooden bridge. We were surprised about how near it was because the distance had looked much larger in the catalogs and on the pictures.
The next town, Belek, was about 8 km away and could easily be reached by taxi for 8 euros. Here, you could basically get all sorts of things.
The airport was about 35 km away and could be reached relatively quickly too.
We didn't make use of the excursion possibilities.
The service in the hotel area was very good - with tiny drawbacks. The staff was basically very friendly, but we were still under the impression that some Russian guests received much better service after having given extremely generous tips. Too bad that tips seemed to be expected at every meal. If you didn't give some, the plates weren't always cleared away immediately.
Apart from that, we made only positive experiences. The room cleaning was very good, and we could get along quite well with English. Some receptionists even had a knowledge of German.
Our daughter needed a doctor right on the second day, which worked super well. The doctor was here within 5 minutes and took good care of her after she had stepped on a big piece of broken glass by the beach bar. Our complaint about it was taken note of, and a big chocolate cake made us forget the incident rather quickly.
Gastronomy
There were lots of possibilities for eating. A main restaurant with varying theme nights, an Asian restaurant, a Greek restaurant, a French restaurant, a fish restaurant and lots of bars!
With all inclusive, we could eat in all the restaurants, but we unfortunately only tried the Asian one. The food and the restaurant were excellent! The other restaurants had a very nice atmosphere too.
We often had dinner on the main restaurant's terrace with its own grill. It was wonderful to sit here!
The food was varying and very good. There was also always something for kids, and when we arrived, we were told that we could order special dishes for the kids every day. You just had to fill in a form in the morning, and the kids got the food for dinner. Great!
Sport & Entertainment
The pool was extremely big! It was winding around the entire hotel area and had partly even salt water. I can only say the following: a huge and beautiful pool area. There was no entertainment in the Gloria Serenity. Entertainment was offered in the neighboring Gloria Golf Club which could be reached in 5 minutes. Depending on where you started. There were also many activities offered on the beach (parasailing, banana boat and lots of other water sports, a kids' playground in the shade, a jumping castle in the water, a trampoline).
We rented one of the popular gazebos on the beach. A DREAM! There were 30 gazebos altogether. We were served by the nicest employee in the entire hotel (Hassan) and spoiled with drinks and fruit. Once in the gazebo, you never wanted to use the beach chairs again! There were enough beach chairs and umbrellas available!
The kids' club in the Gloria Golf Club was unique! Apart from the huge kids' pool area with the many slides, the kids' club was extremely big and had a lot of equipment. The rooms were really very suitable for kids and fanciful! The child care staff was very friendly and partly also spoke German. They took good care of our daughter as it wasn't easy for her with all the Russian-speaking kids. But she still went back there from time to time, which spoke for the club and the staff there!
Room
We had a suite in the main building with a living room, a bedroom and a huge balcony with a big jacuzzi! The suite was very nicely furnished, and the bathroom with a tub and a brick-built shower was luxurious. Everything was very, very clean and well-kept. We had 2 mini bars (everything included in the all inclusive package - even snacks such as gummi bears, crackers), 2 safes, a telephone, 2 TVs.
Tips and recommendations
For us, it was a wonderful holiday in a fantastic hotel. We'll gladly come back here - but rather in September/October because there were said to be more German guests here in that season and our kids would certainly have even more fun then!
