Charm and understated luxury *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Goldener Hirsch, an institution in Salzburg, impresses by the perfect location right in the Getreidegasse and exudes especially one thing: Charm. I usually reside at Hotel Sacher in Salzburg, because of the opening of the Salzburg Festival, however, my hosts booked me a room in the Goldener Hirsch and I must say, I have a new favourite hotel in Salzburg.
Location
The hotel is right in the pedestrian area Getreidegasse, very, very nice location, a stone's throw to the festival halls. Unfortunately, a little bit chaotic as the Getreidegasse has a relatively difficult access because of all the tourists.
Very courteous staff in all areas, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. The room cleaning was so exemplary that other 5-star places could learn a lot. Shortly after you leave the room, it is cleaned.
Gastronomy
Very charming bar, during festival time, a hot-spot for celebrities. You sit next to Thomas Gottschalk, etc. Just top, lets you forget that you fork out 40 Euro for a glass of champagne.

Room
Charming rooms, rustic decoration, coupled with every present-day comfort. Flat screen, internet access, spacious bathroom with a separate shower and tub, large marble vanity, cosmetic products times three, various shoe trees. I can only sing a hymn of praise about the rooms.
