Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel Gounod is a family run Hotel, several brothers that run. The owners are represented in all areas of the hotel and the personal contact with the customer on a regular basis.
The hotel is ideally located, in a quiet side street but still walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. The old town and the flower market are within about one and a half kilometer distance. Promenade and train station are about 400m away equally to both ends of the street, which would make planning for excursions or beach trips very pleasant.
The hotel is not the newest, but it was always well maintained. The rooms have a romantic charm and are for today's standards quite large and comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and spotless.
Breakfast is served on the ground floor the selection was rather typical for France, but the Quality was good and fresh therefor.
The atmosphere and furnishings in the bar and the staff were always exemplary, very helpful and friendly. It prevails a family atmosphere.
Conclusion: one of the few hotels where I have felt very comfortable. Hesitate to recommend this hotel to others...
