Hotel Grand Colonna Capo Testa

The situation is optimal, the beach before the entry door. Santa Teresa with its many restaurants and business can be attained fast. To foot to reach there is a nice small restaurant with friendly staff and moderate prices on Capo Testa and directly around the corner a restaurant with a star (since 2010). Without car it is rather lonely, it is, one wants to simply only bathe. One does not see then however from the beauty of the north of the island anything. Negatively: The hotel is to be found bad. We did not drive past 2x to it - a signpost/guide, no other reference!

The staff in the restaurant and for room service is very friendly, speaks however only Italian, completely few exceptions also badly English. At the reception English is spoken, but aroused altogether a rather unfriendly impression. By greetings one holds not much. Documentation e.g. over trip possibilities, weather, water temperature are missing. There are also no organized trips or meetings for older people, which do not drive abroad so gladly car.

We had booked fortunately only breakfast, which unfortunately did not correspond to our conceptions. The quality was very good, in addition, very monotonous: Ham, cheese, jam in small glasses, which one could open only with trouble. Honey did not give it at all, no cooked eggs, only to scrambled egg with ham, fruit starting from 9 o'clock only apples, no fresh fruit salad. A small beer in that pool bar in the plastic cup costs 8, - euro, a cocktail in that hotel bar generally 12, - euro. Accordingly badly visited it was there without each atmosphere.

Positively: Beautiful clean sand beach with free couches and sun screens. There is a shower at the pool. The pool plant is very beautifully, unfortunately suitable for swimming not so because of the small depth of water. Negatively: Leisure offers equal zero! One has the feeling, children is not desired!

Rooms are okay, perhaps somewhat small, one must in bed be predominantly or on the balcony. It is clean and tidy everything.

The hotel opened Septembers only to at the end of. There we were at the season end. One had the feeling that the remainders all to become now to have. The prices in bar and restaurant are too high. The weather was very good not to drive the beaches so full and the roads pleasantly. A car is absolutely necessary, if one wants to explore the north of the island. Tip: With the ferry after Korsika, was a very beautiful daily trip.
