Hotel Grande Denali Lodge

Please note: the star assessment relates to our cabin. The hotel room is not applicable, and would be much worse in front and not have a middle class and by park not to a sufficient capacity.HCLFHLHCLFHLOn our 23 days constant Alaska trip with the Basel-Frankfurt-Vancouver flight (S. Pan Pacific Vancouver), cruise Vancouver-Whittier (S. Diamond Princess), train trip after Ancorage, the rental car and then stay at the Denali (S. Grande Denali lodge and Denali cabins) in Denali national park and (S. Denali lodge Backcountry), return the car to Ancorage, bus to Whittier, cruise to Vancouver (S. Coral Princess) and then return, the Grande Denali lodge was selected for us to Denali national park in the part, where you can visit it with cars to enjoy some more.HCLFHLHCLFHLThe lodge is situated on a hill opposite of the park and the visitor center, Bahlinie Ancorage-Fairbanks the. The location is so, that it's very far in Denali national park can the corridors.HCLFHLHCLFHLThe lodge consists of two buildings, one large and one small, a main building with front desk, restaurant, gift shop, and bar. The lodge has six cabins, two about the magnitude of the other buildings and four below the hillside more or less in the forest. We had one of these cabins. -At the check-in you have given us the cabin six. We are then down, we have the luggage cart to bring down the (approximately 300 metres). In the cabin and have stayed the same, the view is grown with trees. Furthermore, could be the door to the terrace not open. We are right to the front desk, I requested the cabin three or four, or the number 1, those are the only, where you can see only trees (if you want it, you get in the Denali cabins and many other lodges much cheaper). We were then added, that no other is free, which was untrue.-at least we said then, that we want to change the next day and then it was back to the cabin down. When we arrived there we just been told, that we may have three or four. The four and it was more than made up for it a bit of a riot!HCLFHLHCLFHLThe cabins have a separate bedroom and living room and a large terrace. Furthermore, there was a bathroom with a simple standard. The living room has a small kitchen, however, except for the coffee maker (coffee bag are also there) no further inventory. There are two sofas, different in colour and design and also very different old, in other words old and ancient, a table, a tv and a small rollaway table. On the terrace there is a table with four chairs. The bedroom had a double bed with two bedside tables and a luggage rack. The house was very comfortable, quite in wood and to the Gables open and with lots of windows in the direction of the valley and Denali.HCLFHLWe enjoyed it very much.HCLFHLHCLFHLThe buildings here are to be described shortly. The architecture of the building with the bedrooms is unimaginative. Only about a quarter of the rooms are equipped with small balconies. Half of the rooms have a view of the parking lot on the side of the mountain. In the parking lot of tour there is traffic. The small building was in the view from some rooms of the older building. The outlet of the ventilation/air conditioning is right under some of the rooms of the older building and was very loud. Looking at it from the outside-I could recommend this hotel to anyone, therefor you don't have to come to this hill, you get down and is also cheaper and more opportunities.HCLFHLThe main building has a really great location. The restaurant is built on a rocky outcrop, and from there one has a good view. You must insist, however, that you get a table. If you fail to do so is your own fault. The building is also a wood construction, but very well done. A light-filled building open to the gables, the really something makes.HCLFHLHCLFHLWe ate in the restaurant twice in the evening. The waiters are students, mostly from Eastern Europe, the waiters are here for the first time, when we arrived, even the first week. This makes it was understandable, that one was asked, whether you want to have the main course starter, which still does not work. The offer was absolutely sufficient and quite wide, from Seafood to fish, not just the ubiquitous salmon, to various meat dishes. The food was well presented and tasted good too. All in all, we were satisfied with the restaurant. -It could recommend it to consider just to eat here ago come. The view was by far the best, the it here, the offer was good, the prices reasonable and the service is very professional, very hard therefor, you must stop here itself. We were with the restaurant of Grande Denali lodge much happier than with the one from the princess lodge at the bottom, where we are in the first evening by the cabin and Denali from ate, where much, from the service to the heavens, for us not really has voted.
