great location, lousy room! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ABased on previous reviews we had a classic room on the top floor (due to the lower noise level) and therefor a confirmation. Tonight at 22:00 Friday as we o'clock there arrived, were told, that only one (!) room on the ground would be available, this would be a free upgrade. Very funny, when I the room entered, almost walked right back, I would have liked. I was incredibly disappointed: the room smelled musty, there was only one window cigarette butts a small gap. On all of the windows was inside mold, also several places in the bathroom. The window opened to a small alley, just across the street at about two meters away is the entrance to a disco, which the smoker nice gathered in front of the door. This led to the fact, that the windows because of the noise not open in the morning and I had the feeling to suffocate. I also disgusted by the mold, the room was just fanned was certainly not healthy. As I at the Check-in complaining, I was placed in a hole, merely shrugged his shoulders. I should indicate for the next reservation explicitly, if only in a given room I wanted. This is not registered former -i wonder, what you confirm with the exact indication by the room.
The breakfast was ok.
The garage is right in front of the hotel is very expensive, that the place d'austerlitz is cheap, easy to reach and very modern and well done.
If I am back to strasbourg, I would think twice, the hotel gutenberg whether or not it would be. This room was so, that I would have thought to change in the evening, the hotel and it just left, as we only had one night were there. Otherwise I would not have stayed.
On the other hand, we must say, that the moderate room prices in the location cannot expect a luxury hotel. The hotel has been recently renovated, that is to see and the staff gave a lot of effort.
