Disappointment! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel had a good location, about 200 meters from the beach, it was a slightly bigger hotel. The hotel had 4 stars according to the tour operators. According to our experience that was less likely! It was already quite run down. The old room which we had was really quite bad! The beds were worn out, after a few days, we already had back pain. Moreover, the beds were apart from each other. That seemed quite unromantic to us as a couple, but that's a question of taste. The furnishing was musty and old-fashioned. The bathroom was actually just disgusting, dirty, moldy and defect. In addition, we lived directly above the bar and therefore it was very loud. No relaxation! We were very disappointed since we were actually used to something different form the Canary Islands.
Location
The beach was about 200 meters away. The area was also quite beautiful, put a bit back from the promenade. You could go for a walk, go shopping and drink something at a great beach bar in the evening well near the hotel.
The beach was really great, small but sweet! You could walk really very well at the promenade!
The staff endeavored and was helpful but quite overtaxed since the hotel was quite booked up. Everything was designed for the British guests unfortunately.
Gastronomy
There was a big restaurant in the hotel. During the first days, the food was rather bad unfortunately, everything was just adjusted to the British guests, the food contained a lot of fat and wasn't very varied. By the end of the holiday however, the food constantly improved and was also theme oriented. The service staff was quite overtaxed due to the crush, but very endeavored.
The dining room was absolutely unattractive, quite narrow, table next to table, it had the atmosphere of a cafeteria. We felt like on a market, it was absolutely loud, overcrowded and a real crush. Sometimes, we had to wait more than 30 minutes in front of the restaurant in order to get a table. Therefore, we couldn't choose the table either. We called it "the big chow-down".
Sport & Entertainment
The garden and the pool area were also overcrowded and quite "run down" I'd nearly say. The sports offer wasn't very good - just minigolf. In our opinion, a renovation of the pool area and the rooms would improve the holiday a lot!
Room
We were especially disappointed with our room. Absolutely no 4 stars!! Loud, dirty, old-fashioned and run down! A renovation was urgently needed there! You can read more about that in the section "Hotel".
Tips and recommendations
We were disappointed by the ratio between price and performance and hope that something like this won't happen to us again!! Apart from that, the island was really great and really recommended, but it would best if you go to another hotel!
