Fine for short stay *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AIt is a 2 star hotel in the typical English/Scottish style. The hotel has 45 rooms, in the large number double/twin room. This is an older building; therefore typically British small rooms, narrow corridors, it is a little bit diagonally/crooked and also a bit worn. Some of the rooms seem to be renovated. The doors and windows are and that's why it wasn't very soundproof. The hotel offers full Scottish breakfast, has a small bar, where small (few) snacks. The guests come apparently everywhere.
Location
The hotel is a little from the city (RoyalMile; Castle) away. It is on a side street to a larger main road. From the airport, take the bus was about 45 to 60 minutes.; by taxi about 20 minutes. Bus stops are only about 200 -300m away; a train station (Haymarket) about 1000 meters away. Shops are also in about 500 - 1000 meters, or by bus (see tips). The best you bus (the best way with a few quirks; a tram/tram is under construction). You can visit Edinburgh Scotland.
Daytime was at the reception and also in the kitchen very friendly and helpful (U. A. was easily the changed rooms for our group). Since we only slept there two nights, I can only say that our room was cleaned and the towels were changed. We are in the UK/Scotland and it will therefore spoke English; the Akzent is a bit unusual especially at night porter (who seemed a little grumpy). Internet access (2 PC) was available for a fee.
Gastronomy
Adjacent to the dining room for breakfast, there was a small bar. There was one to two small snacks and various drinks out of a tin and bottle of. The bar was also from the night clerk powered, so evenings there was a nightcap. Breakfast: Very British!!! For the like it, very tasty. The food was always re-filled. The breakfast room was for a 2 +- totally okay.

Room
Old British building, so small rooms (but sufficient) with a small bathroom (for one person, more don't fit in). The rooms have two armchairs and a small table or a chest of drawers, and a small television (5 -7 English channels). In the room you have a kettle and a bowl of espresso and teas. Throughout the rich the room, you can take yes during the day a lot to sleep and they put out. Anyone who has had to dark corners at the wall (are not bad and extremely) or soft beds (hard beds) mind should rather 4 or 5 star.
Tips and recommendations
Edinburgh is a very beautiful old city with a great atmosphere and much international flair. At our travel time was a lot of construction going on (new apartment buildings and the tram); the weather: Very britsich - covered, and light rain. The view from the Castle just great; a visit to the Glenkinchie Destillery is highly recommended. The tip: just take a day pass at LothianBusses (3 pounds) and you can visit Edinburgh plus Airport and suburbs/traffic. Why book an expensive sightseeing on your own, they are just super. Small drawback here: not all stops Chistchurch and on the bus stop is not announced/show - a bit of a challenge, and unfreiwilliges time change is needed, but not bad, with regular buses running (there is felt 1000 buses in Edinburgh).
