view on street noise is right *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis city hotel is located in the center of Cordoba in close proximity to the old town. It sits on a strong (!) busy road and because of its Eckbauweise on the corner. On the street below the Río Guadalquivir river flows. In about 10 minutes you had to walk along the beautiful Puente Romano" (vehicles forbidden) to the other side of the river and the old town with its Mosque cathedral "Mezquita" has been achieved. Along the road, the hotel is on that street are more houses (residences), of which EC several restaurants, or cafes are. These are very frequented by the locals. We had booked this hotel as part of a Andalusia, as we had the high Tiefgaragenkosten the hotels in the old town, and the other driving through the (old-)city, with its narrow streets to avoid. This is as far as well laid out, but we had to purchase take immense street noise (more information location and setting). The hotel is a construction optically recent updatings and on 3 floors. A gardens or a typical patio (interiror garden) are not available. From 2 . Floor offer a wonderful view of the river Río Guadalquivir river and the old town, room in the 3 . Floor are even more in the way of view. Room with balcony or terrace we didn't see any. The air-conditioned hotel has lifts, the corridors are carpeted. The Driving directions to the hotel was in Córdoba itself (at least from Granada, take) absolutely easy and well signposted. During our 4 day stay the guest structure was mostly from Spanish, just a few other nationalities and a few German. The overall appearance of the hotel was clean. The facilities (reception restaurant, bar) seemed very sterile and upsetting however, you can also say cold and uncomfortable. If you want a quaint Altstadthotel with a nice patio, was wrong here!
Location
As mentioned above, the hotel is in a strong (!) busy road, eventually to a central artery of town, which is the next bridge, cross the-motorized. On this road and also in front of the hotel itself are simply (!) street free parking. So don't count on here a free spot, but rather the lucky trust. The hotel does not free underground garage - also here prices, 16.05 € per day! If you room with view on / Mezquitablick bay side to take ear, unless you have a divine sleep! The windows are without any soundproofing or similar., so you even with the windows closed thought it is aligned or tilting. With dark night returning for a long time not silence a - it's really los! Due to the heat the during the day was (we had daily temperatures up to 35°C), the people come in the late evening, if that's cooler, then go back again in the hallways and the street life pulsated again in front of the hotel. Not much peace returned before 01 :00 at night. Also from the Altstadtseite since loud music and singing to us. We had to decide, either with the windows closed to sleep with the windows open the noise or into the night and early in the morning to put. proximity to the old town across the river wise it is really perfect. In about 12 minutes you'll reach the Mezquita. This is where the historic Juderia" with its many small restaurants and shops, stores and souvenirs.
Check in at the hotel is from 2pm, check out before 12.00 hours. At the reception they couldn't speak German or at least understood, exclusively in English. The check in was quick. Although we ahead on the internet a room on the top floor, we had reserved a second. Floor. On our question we were told that no room on the 3rd floor. Floor would be clean. We had checked in after 2 pm ... The room cleaning was for a 4 star hotel in order. To complain about the service in the restaurant (see gastronomy) and the fact that neither the hotel or in our room itself a x information map to the hotel or the city and the surrounding area (excursions) are partially displayed. The cell phone reception was very good.

The restaurant where breakfast was served, is located in the 1 . basement. You looked into the inner courtyard of the hotel, with some potted plants less attractive. The restaurant itself seemed very sterile and undecorated, except for a few pictures on the wall no decoration. The furniture reminded me of the 70s style. We had booked bed and breakfast. There was an American buffet breakfast at all 4 days for the same offer consisted, for example.: 3 died. rolls, toast, cereal, several jams, honey, died. cheeses, fruits, yogurt, died, pastries and cake, fresh squeezed orange juice. 3 Out of the 4 days only did one (!) lady from the restaurant staff the work of at least 2 staff, people, clear tables and the coffee pouring your cover stock up again and if necessary, food at the buffet for breakfast after, the next guests at the entrance to their room number to ask if you from the list abzustreichen. In these circumstances the service of course suffered greatly. Our table and the other guests were not cleared forever, quasi until you get up from the table is, bringing coffee took a long time, so you even the cans served ...
Sport & Entertainment
The hotel has a rooftop about 4 x 7 m large swimming pool. Apparently it was clean, we used but didn't - not least because on the roof not one umbrella available. It also other were placed in the shade. But there were about 6 lounge chairs, 2 showers were also available. BTW, the note on the presence of this swimming pools we were looking at the hotel in vain. On one day of our 4 day stay was closed even the access to the pool. From evening entertainment in the hotel we have not heard anything, but you should not ...
Room
We had a double room in the 2 . Floor with a view of the old town and Mezquita. The view from the room is very attractive, especially at night when the Mezquita illuminated. The Puente Romano" during our stay that it was not make sense. Our double room was with ca. 20 sqm large enough and had following features: laminate wood floors, a 200 x 200 meters large double bed with nice firm mattresses and pillows in 2 died. sizes, air conditioning with heating capability, an armchair, a small table, desk, telephone, color TV with a German channels (RTL), minibar, safe. The closet with 4 drawers was big enough, extra chest of drawers were not available, as well as no Garderobenhaken. The room did not have a balcony, i.e. any room to the street balcony. In the afternoon sun until sunset into the room. However, the rooms were completely at darkening curtains. However, the room was very poor and we could watch the TV program from next door. bathroom arrangement (no window): shower-bath with a glass division, toilet, bidet, make-up mirror, a power socket at the sink, hair dryer, an additional telephone, shampoo and shower gel. Except for the sink no additional Borde available. The sink cabinet in the bathroom was but big enough to drop off its power. Bathrobes and slippers were not available. Strangely there were no toilet brush ?! The cleanliness of the room and bath were alright.
Tips and recommendations
To the city in all chill (definitely also in the evening) and the whole flair of the beautiful old town soak, you should plan 2 days. Alone the Mezquita spans an entire pre-or afternoon, WIDEST thing. If you are looking for a really good flamenco show with professional dancers and singers want to see, I'd recommend the "El Cardenal". The establishment is located next to the Mezquita in the extended alley of the Puente Romano", head toward the old town/Juderia on the left hand side. Entrance fee per person. 20 .- Euro incl. a drink of your choice, duration with break about 1 hour. Bar none! It is a plus, the day before to book tickets to the show is quite lively. We had booked the hotel as part of a multi-leg trip. From all our booked hotel this was the hotel with the highest noise level. We would not recommend this hotel. But if you are accustomed to the street noise that is probably don't mind. More hotels on our trip: see under my profile.
