Good, but not a great hotel for London *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe stayed for five days with the family in London for a city break. On the day of arrival were the rooms (two double room) unfortunately in the morning wasn't't available. As' compensation ' we were given but a upgrade into the next higher room category! Super, since the rooms on the 14th floor and there is a wonderful view of the city (toward the river Thames) had! The Edgware road it is about 15 minutes walking distance to the Marple arch, from where our 'big bus sightseeing tour' started. As an alternative to the underground thoroughly recommended, since the 'hop on and off' 48 hour ticket alive. Oxford street with numerous opportunities for shopping is also right by the Marple arch around the hotel are also many opportunities for shopping, pubs and restaurants (in most Asian). The hotel (more than 1000 rooms) has a corresponding Passage. We found it but never overcrowded. The breakfast you could imagine sometimes, as many guests in the hotel. A big compliment to the staff, it never lacked a bit on the large breakfast buffet. As wish (second blanket) were also promptly and quickly. The Hilton Metropol has certainly not 'the Hilton standard' of other hotels in this group, is reasonably priced for London absolutely in order. A little tip: ask a taxi from the hotel talked. A regular taxi. Reasonably priced a huge big difference! We would visit again the Hilton London metropolis book. The price performance ratio is this mega wicked cosmopolitan absolutely in order.
