Hotel Hinteregger

The hotel is equi-distant from Salzburg or Klagenfurt. the transfer is about 90 minutes through wonderful scenery so is part of the holiday. The position is perfect as it sits between the two mountains where most time is spent hiking or skiing. The village is tiny, so relies on the community of hotels and a few shops for entertainment. Further away are some shopping centres but these need a drive. The surrounding area is spectacular so there are plenty of places for nature lovers to go.

The hotel is very well managed and staffed. All are unfailingly polite and friendly, with a good command of the many languages they need for their clientele.

The rooms are kept very clean by efficient and hard working staff.

The hotel is ideal for families and the children's programmes are very good indeed. Children can be left in their care for minutes or the whole day and will be well entertained and cared for.

On the rareoccasions when something has not gone quite right, the hotel staff and management have been effective and quick in soving the problem.

The food is very good. A fine breakfast buffet sets guest up for an active day and the multi-course dinners are always of high quality with a fine choice. the wine list is also very good, featuring Austrian wines. Highly recommended. the food is local austrian in the main but also uses international dishes to add variety.

In winter, the Hotel's restaurant on the piste is well worth a visit.

This is a place for those who want to be active, mainly outdoors: skiing, hiking, riding are all a pleasure. Anyone who wants to stay in and surf the internet can do so (mad in my opinion) and in the case of bad weather, there is a very good pool and wellness area with an amazing variety of ways to feel good. There are saunas, multiple alternative therapies and good massage after an active day.

All is very clean and is kept in good functioning condition

The family rooms are roomy and comfortable and a good place to relax between activity and meals. The bathrooms are clean and are kept in good order. Each has TV, telephone and safe. Many have balconies offering lovely mountain views.

We have been at most times of the year. Each offers something different. The holidays are always very refreshing.

The village is small, so don't go looking for nightclubs!

For the skiers, the snow is usually very good and there are plenty of artificial snow pistes just in case. the ski schools are good and very child friendly.
