Beautiful beach holiday, with drawbacks *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ANice and clean area in the centrally located area of Puerto del Carmen. Everything was at walking distance. Beautiful garden and a great pool. The staff were very friendly! The downside is that the balconies almost are nearly never used, as it is next to that of the immediate neighbors. When you're on the balcony, you're literally nearly in your neighbor's property as there is nothing to cut off the view of the neighboring balcony. Very unpleasant!
The competence of the staff in the dining room was very good, but rather overstressed. As a consequence, one often had long waits to order drinks and for plates to be taken away or for the buffet to be refilled- it was crumbly/dingy. The food was lacking in quality and variety, but very good!
Rooms attractively designed and clean apart from the balcony (see above). The property is well maintained and nice, with a garden nearby. Mini golf course, fitness center and playground are old and rotted- they require an urgent renovation (new stuff, painting needed)! Entertainment in the low season was very bland. Sufficient beach chairs were available by the pool. The great beach is located directly in front of the hotel- it was clean and very, very spacious! Car rental can be done directly in the hotel. Wireless Internet throughout the hotel, but is only available at the front desk. Complaints concerning the restaurants were immediately were immediately noted and acted on. A nice hotel overall, in a good location, a bit old, but good value for money nonetheless, as long as the restaurant service and the condition of the facilities- such as playground, fitness and miniature golf- are improved. Suitable for families with children, couples and retired people.
