NEVER again!!! Incredible!!! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is more than in need of renovation!! It really have to be almost kernsaniert! Everywhere has plaster falling out of the walls and ceilings, now even from the moment you step into the lobby ... The elevators stink, the hallways smell, and the room anyway! A moldy smell from the staff tried to be covered, with several room freshner was overwhelming, but very little! The crowd is rather underclass, or Americans which do not a 'better' hotel can afford. We would have avoided not expected from a Holiday Inn. It is on par with MAX. 2 Stars, but never 4 stars!!!
Location
The location is good. 5 min walk to the nearest subway, 10 minutes to Central Park. There were enough shopping possibilities available, although compare prices first! (2 bottles of water, 2 bananas and 2 apples for $18!?!? ) Otherwise everything right within walking distance, 5th Ave, Broadway etc.
Friendliness??? No way! By far unfreundlichstes staff ever! No service, zero understanding, zero accomodating ... The only ones who were friendly, the housekeeping staff. The cleaning rather superficial exrta reliable. We were lucky with the room, the gap between soil and door about 20 cm, we always had to a towel from the gap. Very loud guests, pure staff. Room service food was 4 days not cleared away, despite several NOTE negative comments at all! Without words ...
Gastronomy
There is a hotel bar in the lobby. I can't describe it! Unfriendly, terrible drinks, bad snacks. Restaurant we didn't visit ...

Room
The size is for NY standards, really top! Very large rooms. But what was a large room, which was not clean, not quiet etc. We had first a handicapped accessible room, sink with my knees the shower floods the whole bathroom, no counter space,.. The second room we then after vigorously complaint was much better, but also here only superficial cleaning! No mini bar, just coffee. TV ancient, but worked at least. Telephone worked in the first room NOT!!! As I said, property, rooms badly in need of renovation!
Tips and recommendations
Free wireless in the rooms, as well as in the lobby. just about only plus, if that's what you. Price performance was not at all right! You pay for the size and even the location, but that's it. We were there in February, and were lucky with spring-like color schemes temperatures and sun every day. Conclusion: never again! Not European Holiday Inn standard! GUTTED!!!
