5-star hotel with proper service *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AEven if it was different abroad with the star categories than usual, so in this case this was a true 5 * classification even by German standards. The hotel had 81 rooms spread over 5 floors, and there were different room categories (could be viewed on the website of the hotel). Our room was about 30 sqm large, in new and well kept condition. The room was cleaned daily, even if we left it only first in the afternoon.Breakfast could be reserved in addition (about 18 € per person), there was no half board, since for dinner there was the private hotel restaurant (Senz one), in which one could order a la carte. Friday and Saturday night on the hotel terrace, where there was also a pool, there was a special dinner event with (grill) menu. The tourists aged late 20s, early 30s upwards, mostly couples or families, who mainly came from Europe.
Location
The hotel was located in the old town of Alicante, surrounded by many restaurants, bars and other hotels.Unfortunately, in Spain apparently different notions of sleep, as known in Germany, see below in the "tips".The beach was 2 minutes walk away from the hotel. There was always a place under a shady palm tree, a beach chair(extra charge) or a umbrella did not have to be reserved. The quality of sand and ocean was impeccable. There were, for example, no jelly fish near the coast, if there were, the people were warned by the local Red Cross, who guarded the beach, by means of flags.A shuttle bus drove every 20 minutes to and from the airport, one for € 2.60 per person from the airport to Alicante and back. If a taxi was preferred it cost roughly one-way 18€. Excursions were of course evenings in the entire town, at the nearby Castle of St. Barbara, north of Alicante and the nearby island Tabarca. Furthermore, there were various offers for jet skiing, sunset trips, snorkeling, etc.Shopping possibilities like small or large supermarkets were within a maximum of 15 minutes walking distance. In addition, there were several major shopping malls in the immediate vicinity (also within walking distance, about 30 minutes away).
The staff at the hotel was generally friendly, everyone spoke English there, German not at all.As described above, the rooms were cleaned daily. Here all the hand towels were exchanged every time and toiletries, shower gel, shampoo, etc. refilled.Laundry service was also available, if there was doctor or child care we did not check it out.We had one complaint (see "tips"), this was resolved promptly and friendly.WLan internet was available throughout the entire hotel. The reception was open 24 hours and could always help with any request. Breakfast in the room was also possible. So one could, for example instead of reserving breakfast every day buy his own food and keep the expenses manageable.

The restaurant had an adjoining restaurant (Senzone), in summer this also served the lobby hotel bar all day.The restaurant menu card was small, but in 2 weeks we could not try all the dishes. There were mainly traditional Spanish dishes on the menu card. The atmosphere was very pleasant, especially the dinners on Friday and Saturday evening on the hotel terrace were really beautiful.Prices for Munich standards were normal to cheap, tips were never included in the prices, we paid the 10% of the total. Otherwise, everything seemed extremely hygienic.
Sport & Entertainment
Internet access over WLan or Ethernet was free throughout the entire hotel. The hotel had an extensive spa area with appropriate reservable treatments - which we did not use. Prices here - whoever knew them - were similar to those in the spa Erding.Water and beach quality as I said were perfect. The hotel's pool was very small and not very deep. It was next to the sunbathing terrace and was really only suitable for a short refreshment. The number of beach chairs on the terrace was limited and there were only about 8. First come first serve was the rule here, no reservations by hand towel for the whole day.The hotel offered a service, specifically to use private beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach (12 € per day).We did not use them because there was enough natural shade.
Room
Size: our room was around 30sqm large. Furnishings: double bed, separate bathtub shower, separate toilet, double sink, flat screen TV with channels in every language (with only about 3 of each: RTL, ZDF and MTV in German), couch, patio (the only room which had one in the hotel), air conditioner automatic (also controlled with digital adjustment), minibar, telephone and safe.Furniture and design high quality of dark hardwood, and dark parquet hardwood floors as well.It was still very new, the condition was altogether perfect.
Tips and recommendations
During our holiday time (mid, late August) it was continuously perfect weather: clear blue sky and up to 38 ° C. Super for a beach holiday by the ocean. Those who like to hike a lot or want to see the area it was perhaps too hot at this time of year.A tip for the room selection: one should try to get a room that was not located on the hotel entrance street. Unfortunately, our first room faced it. At night it was disturbing loud (emptying garbage cans, transport delivery various products, etc.). In response to question, "complaints", we promptly received a new quieter room.
