Still in Order, but Earlier it was More Beautiful *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ANot too much like a block hotel area. The facade in the blue/orange newly painted building, needed to get used to it, but in order. The entrance hall and the reception as well as all the halls in very good condition. Guests of all nationalities were here in August. British, German, Spanish and even a few Russian. The Germans in my opinion always fewer.
Location
Top location. Direct access to the beach. The shopping possibilities and restaurants on the opposite street side. Even also the many empty stores, partly somewhat rundown. In the all inclusive age, it wasn't surprising that the guests mostly stay in the hotel. Sad actually! Kiosk at hotel.
The staff was mostly very friendly. Many servers we knew for years. Always ready there with a nice comment. So everyone understood German. The room cleaning was in order. We could problemlessly move into another room, since we didn't like the French bed with only a blanket in the first offered room.
Gastronomy
1 main restaurant, snackbar on the beach, burger bar on the beach. Piano bar in front of the house, bar behind the hotel. Breakfast and supper buffet were simply just genial. Whoever complained, couldn't be helped. Appetizers, soup, main dishes, desserts, cakes= all top. In the main restaurant one could eat supper on a large patio.
Large flaw minus for the chairs in the patio area in front of the show stage. From the terracotta colored comfortable seats changed to cheap white plastic chairs. No atmosphere at all. In addition the lawn area in the whole outdoor section had strongly diminished. Hardly any blossoming flowers. The hotel had really lost a lot of the Mediterranean flair! 10 years earlier it was a model display in that area. Even the snackbar above on the beach through the aluminum chairs didn't have any Mediterranean flair anymore. Very sad!
Sport & Entertainment
Entertainment and shows were in order, clean pool and large enough, but through the missing vegetation in the edge areas the area looked somewhat too sterile. The exotic flair as 5 years ago was gone.
Room
Top in order. Flat screen TV, balcony large enough. Rooms were daily and thoroughly cleaned. Here there were no complaints. Beautiful that the room had a refrigerator which one could use for own drinks. A huge plus!
Tips and recommendations
Price performance didn't match in my opinion anymore. The hotel had regularly in the last years raised the prices. Now it was enough. It affected the bookings this year. Maybe mostly still 3/4 full. All inclusive wrecked everything. There were mountains of food and drinks daily thrown away, which also had to be paid. As mentioned above, the Mediterranean flair had mostly disappeared. We would probably next year after 10 years, make our holiday elsewhere, unless the prices were lowered. We were however glad, that the hotel 1999 still had an acceptable price with the beautiful garden area and that we got to know the beautiful Mediterranean outdoor area.
