Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AI booked this hotel about 3 months before our holiday over the net and especially with the good reviews here at HolidayCheck. And it was the absolute right decision. The hotel stands out any of the other buildings, because it is a very modern building. Already when entering inwardly one I thought: "Wow looks the good. ". The lobby is very modern and refined decorated with lcds very nice woods and cheerful colors. After the hassle you check in you will get cards with which you both the room and to open the elevator to use. worked but it is not as good and you have to five times or longer try to it. 2 times it didn't work at all. The friendly staff was always helpful.
Location
I can only say one thing - you can't get anything better. The hotel is located in a quiet square just off the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh. It is really everything perfect within walking distance. Unless you get an excursion to the port (Ocean Terminal) you have to take the bus. But only a few meters from the hotel and costs very little. think 1.20 for a single fare.
As I previously mentioned, very accommodating and friendly staff. English spoken but only. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed on-demand.

We had booked including breakfast. Came £5.50 which was 6 -7€. So a very fair price. The breakfast room is situated adjacent to the lobby. He wasn't that big. However, we had always a table (were around 8 -9am food). The buffet is very extensive and well presented. meters There is something for everyone. Various sorts of bread, rolls, bagels, croissants, muffins, fruit, various jams. Sausage, cheese, Kellogs, ... More than enough for us. However, there were every day the selbem which in a week but is not a problem. Very appreciative of the two professional Tschibo The coffee machines were where you really from Caffe Latte beyond normal coffee to the cocoa everything.

Room
The rooms are very modern and Ibis typical decorated. The size is well worth it. The bed is very large and beautiful. Opposite the bed is a small LCD on the only English channels. There is also a kettle, cups with tea and Nescafe coffee. Was also re-filled every day. We had a room at the back, so it was very quiet. General is in the evening it not as noisy as you know it from other cities. Edinburgh is special. The bathroom was big enough, clean and modern. At the beginning only toothbrushes and utensils are a soap were available. A bit sad I found the toilet brush not available. Internet is available through surcharge with the TV. A keyboard provided in the room.
Tips and recommendations
Eating out - diagonally across the Royal Mile nice Italian. Good value for money. I don't eat in pubs. The British food is very getting used to and no indulgence and in the pub were certainly not. Deep fried Mars riegel: If you from hotel the Royal Mile down toward Palace of Holyrood House's after about 400 meters on the right hand side a small snack(is something "fried" or "butter" as). You have to try!
