Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Ibis is a hotel with a 2-star comfort, so far so good. Front desk was friendly and efficient, the rooms clean and the location was at least as far as the excursions very good. It is, of course, not everyone thing right in front of the hotel, a busy main road to have (and a disco in the immediate neighborhood), but it was easy on the highway and easy access to the town of lucerne, or at the fair/stadium. Therefore, you could also walk from the city in the very beautiful countryside, on the south of Lake Lucerne, as well as the post or in the direction of the Bernese Alps.
The main drawback, and therefore no recommendation from me, because it was very basic, they are extremely poorly sound-proofed and for the price it was extremely cheapest equipped rooms. A two star hotel for the price of 100 €direction (as parking in the garage as well as the local tax) you would expect more than youth hostel flair, a superior furniture would increase the feelgood factor, and would probably not even much more expensive for the hotel.
And God help you if you active neighbors his room somewhere nearby. It is not longer. We ended up so that until late in the night and watched tv was speaking in loud. The noise level in the room was so noisy as if you are in the area of the neighbors sat. This is a sign of a very simple nature of the walls and in a country like Switzerland all the more remarkable, but otherwise the quality of buildings is very high.
Conclusion: The Ibis is an affordable hotel in the otherwise very expensive area, is however not suitable for long stays vacation. Furthermore, it is still too expensive for its standard, the you get. But if you are looking for a place to stay for a stopover or a short stay in this fantastic beautiful corner in Switzerland is, you could book and then you have to hope, either very quiet neighbors or at least not have its earmuffs to have forgotten.
