Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AI have to clarify that I usually don’t post reviews on hotels. I’m making this exception, because the hotel management asked me so and because my family and I spend a fantastic week there in the beginning of July 2010.
Before going to the details, I would also like to state that I am a demanding client. I’m not strange in anyway, but I insist in getting back at least the 100% of the value of the money I paid, in good service. A good service for me is the service that fully meets the terms and conditions of the contract (agreement) you make with the hotel’s management. I pay a certain amount of real not counterfeit money and in return I expect and demand to be treated accordingly. In my experience, holiday hotels, don’t always meet what they advertise. Some hotel owners claim that this happens because they don’t operate all year long, they occasionally face some logistic problems. This is a poor excuse in my opinion, because the ability to resolve small or big logistic or any other sort of operational problems is what distinguishes a good business from a bad one.
Nothing of the above happened there!
ISTION CLUB is an absolutely stunning brand new five stars hotel with autonomous blocks of 140-150 marvelous nicely decorated suites, most of them with a great view to the Aegean Sea.
It has beautiful large gardens attended on a daily basis. A magnificent private sandy beach in front of the hotel is only 10 meters away and has umbrellas, sun beds and water sports equipment. Although the water is shallow, the lifeguard who's always on duty gives you a certain amount of confidence. This is very important when you are with small children.
Cleanliness is another big asset of this hotel. All public places and our room were always very clean, fresh and neat.
We had a very competitive all-inclusive deal/price. This included breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, snacks, ice-creams and juices for the children and just everything in between. They give you a plastic gray wrist band so that all personnel know that you are an "all-inclusive client" and don't double charge you. You just sign the bill and that's it. When you check out, all you pay is the “all-inclusive rate” multiplied by the number of nights you stayed. Brilliant and cost effective!
Location
The hotel is located approximately 70 Km North East of Thessaloniki, Greece’s second capital city and 5 minutes from Nea Potidea. It is a small village with few restaurants and bars with a wonderful view of the strait of Kassandra. However at N. Moudania you will find many restaurants and bars to fulfill all tastes. By car you have the possibility to explore the 3 "legs" of Chalkidiki, each with its beauty and characteristics. You must see to understand why thousands of Greeks own a flat or house for their summer holidays. Also from the beach we could walk along the sea.
There are no words to describe the service. Excellent is simply not enough. All personnel were friendly and treated us with politeness and respect. We were also impressed with the fact that almost all the staff is multilingual. Apart from Greek they are fluent in English, French, German and Russian!!! What made the difference, was Paul Vossiniotis, the hotel's General Manager. He was at breakfast, lunch, dinner and just everywhere, checking continuously things with the waiters, the chef and the clients, making certain that everything was to our satisfaction. He was doing all that with a big genuine smile on his face!
Gastronomy
If you appreciate good food and your wife doesn't count how much you eat (like mine), you are in the right place. The food was plenty and the quality impeccable. The vegetables and salads were always fresh and different menu every single day with red meat, chicken and fish, in traditional Greek and international dishes. Their sweets and ice cream are made in the house and they are outstanding.
Sport & Entertainment
The pool is quite large and the water is crystal clear. A pool bar stocked with anything you can possibly imagine is located nearby.
Room
Our suite was approximately 40 square meters, with master bedroom, living room with two sofa beds for the children, large en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, A/C and balcony with magnificent view to the sea. Furniture is new with contemporary design and the walls are painted in pastel earthly colors giving an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury. It was promptly cleaned on a daily basis.
