A rustic Jagdschloss with a lot of charm

Traveling from America, I was seeking an authentic experience and this charming hotel fulfilled all of my expectations. My single room/bathroom was clean and cozy. The breakfast buffet was impressive, especially for the price. This Jagdschloss dates back in the early 1900's and has a lot of history. Apparently with new management in place, you could see how they were able to combine some of the historic pieces with the more modern decor to create a unique feel.
Location
The hotel's location is ideal and provides a relaxing atmosphere. It was only about a 2-hour drive from the Munich airport and is nestled cutely in the mountain. There are shops and restaurants nearby and Kitzbuhl is also not that far away, but I wanted to stay somewhere that was not overcrowded with tourists, so this was a perfect location for me.
The hotel staff made my stay a very pleasant one. Even though I speak a little German, it was very helpful that they could speak English as well. They made me feel very at home and were quite friendly. They were helpful in recommending winter activities, all which were very close by. Even when I had a crazy idea of sledding down the hill next to the hotel, they provided me with plastic bags and joined me in sliding down the mountain side. What fun!
Gastronomy
I was very pleased with the variety and quality of food on the menu. The dining area was clean and provides a great view. I also enjoyed drinking an aperitif in the unique lounge.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
I visited in the winter season so I did not use the outdoor pool. However, it is located nicely in their garten. I'll have to come back in the summer and try it out.
Room
My single room was the right size for me and the bed was comfortable. It was clean and I had a great view. No complaints. You could see that most rooms have balconies.
