Four star hotel in the 5-star location *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Kata Thami hotel is located on a wonderful beach, the Kata Noi, a bit away from the main town, about 1 hour from the airport. The beach was flat and very suitable for children. Sometimes it can but high waves (where our 7 year old rather pleased). The pool area directly on the beach is beautiful, the view of the sunsets from there fantastic. We were there in the off-season, and neither lack of beach chairs more than unfriendly staff complaints (which in some reviews from the high season was the case). The breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. The structure of the guests was very mixed: families, retirees, couples.
The room was large enough for the four of us and nicely decorated.
Weaknesses: the hotel restaurants are expensive. The hotel is a little way from the place, and so is the selection of restaurants and shops in walking distance. And, what is in the shops in front of the hotel, rip off.
Conclusion: The Kata Thami is in my view a good four star hotel. With 5-star resorts in the upper class can measure it is not. For a few days on the beach, a nice place.
