Hotel Kavkaz Golden Dune

The reviews here are certainly subjective, so it makes sense, more reviews. I try to remain as objective, but I can't promise, that I am always succeed.
We are in June 2011 the sixth time at the hotel kavkaz been (2004 to 2008 and then after two years 'pause a further attempt). Bulgaria, sunny beach, in particular, the region has been a good experience, we will definitely stay at this hotel again. But it is in any case another hotel!
This is a small, family run Hotel rather with about 120 rooms. It is a little off the beaten path, but still close enough, to participate in the lively holiday feeling. With a small shuttle train, which stops right in front of the hotel, one comes fast everywhere. Also to foot one is in few minutes in the center of sunny beach. The hotel is run by families with young children, most of older (50+)booked.
To the beach it was really only a few hundred meters, although it was the shortest way over a footbridge. This wood was in the final years of the art plucked (probably for firewood), that there is little to be desired. The nails look far out, the wood is rotting and splintered. The pier is absolutely not to be recommended, definitely not for children.
The rooms are adequate in size and facilities. If you want to spend a few euros more, with an apartment is well-advised. The rooms were cleaned every day, but I do not want to be more Catholic than the Pope. From 2011, there are daily fresh towels, sheets changed weekly. A safe could one for five leva (about 2, 50 €) per day. The mini bar (a few non-alcoholic drinks) is three days before departure emptied, which annoyed. Television could, the few programmes but bad reception.
The staff is friendly in the front desk. There is an exchange office, open daily. The currency exchange is not a problem. The course is in almost all hotels. The change on the road is not recommended, the fraudsters are without exception!
In the hotel there was also a doctor, the friendly and helpful. He also spoke German.
The hotel has a small pool, but (with changing renter) leased is. The first few years there was always something going on, many evenings we have with nice people and always had a lot of fun. Now, however, is nothing more the matter. On some evenings we even sat alone there. Also during the day is not a lot going on. There were activities here and will probably not be (for me was not important). There was no entertainment only then, if the number of people present the work itself, and have fun.
Unfortunately, the kavkaz not/breakfast, then you could perhaps recommend it. The breakfast was on all 14 days of the stay the same. The pots were only sugar to go somewhere else. It is, however, compared to 2008 and rather worse. The scrambled eggs was very liquid, fried bacon there were only three days, the rest of the twelve days was wabbeliges fat with Gyrosgewürz there. Four different types of sausage, everything was of poor quality. Small soft bread rolls, often quite hard, since from the vortag. A few tourists brought to the breakfast and the stuff, they bought in a supermarket, only about something else to eat. The staff has no interested in. At breakfast you can certainly cope with it. This is different from the other meals. Here is my clear message: not recommended!
Except for a few shares there was always the same. As already written often, the food is pretty low category (and at the same time, I am quite clear, that I for little money can expect the best). Since the rates in sunny beach was quite cheap, you can eat for little money everywhere, which we very often took advantage of. The service staff spoke with two exceptions no German or English. Obviously they are very cheap labour from the surrounding villages. If you didn't watch, even during the meals the plates away or just turned the cup (several times-other guests-experienced).
The hotel offers also all inclusive at (was necessary for the fourth Star). I can only advise you not to go there! Apart from the bad quality of the food is poor or utterly lack of service the selling point. All_-guests must be yourself. This is available in front of the restaurant on a corner a small wood bar and below the pool (in the basement shop) also. The beverages (including beer or wine) in small plastic cups doled out. The long and disillusioned faces of the all-inclusive guests I will surely stay longer remember.
After several stays in the kavkaz, I am once again disappointed. There is nothing better, but some still worse. We in any case again and again with a group of friends from the hallway there was Germany and all come to the conclusion, the hotel will no longer book. There are a lot of good hotels in sunny beach, also concerning the price interesting, with a reasonable food, since you have to blast it shouldn't.
Maybe (and this is my silence hope) understands what is going wrong with the management and improved here and there. Then you can certainly go back there again. Up to then: stay away!
