The perfect place to relax and to feel good
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe were seeking a quiet place in the sun to relax in luxurious surroundings after the bleak English winter; the Kempinski met the bill perfectly. We returned from Soma Bay feeling like new people totally relaxed and reinvigorated by the Red Sea environment , but also the stress - free luxury of the Kempinski Hotel. It is expensive, but worth every penny. We are seiously thinking of returning next year
Location
The elegant, Arabic-style designed hotel is beautifully situated over looking 400 ms. of golden sands with mountains in the background across the Bay. . The large, heated swimming pool was delightful and necessary as the sea was slightly chilly in Jan. Lying on the well-manicured, private and spacious beach was enhanced by the absence of any vendors and the frequent arrival of delicious, innovative and free iced drinks or lollies from the hotel. We made full use of the delightful paved walk along the promenade passed the other 2 hotels on the bay and through the Cascades International Golf Course.
Smiling and efficiency were the key qualities of all the staff, who could not do enough to make us welcome and feel special. The scene was set from the first minute when the Resident Manager came to greet us on our arrival and wished us a good stay. Sofia, in Guest Relations, was always full of smiles in between delivering excellent service in arranging our exciting snorkelling trip to the house reef at the amazing price of 12 Euros for a 1km. boat ride, wet suit and all the gear.

The buffet breakfasts and dinners were superb with a wonderful choice of food, especially the salads, fantastic cakes and an array of freshly grilled, locally caught fish. Sitting on the terrace with the fine view of the distant mountains made breakfast a real treat
Sport & Entertainment
eXCELLENT HEATED POOL AND FASCINATING lAZY rIVER RUNNING THROUGH GROUNDS FOR SWIMMING, BUT TOO COLD IN jAN. Spa rather small and no tennis or squash courts on site, though were available at Cascades just up the road.
Room
The spacious sea-view room was spotlessly clean with a large comfortable balcony; the silk-like bedding was to die for. All of this was diligently cleaned by our friendly and enthusiastic cleaner, Benal, closely supervised by Adil, the smiling, super-efficient housekeeper.
