Warm, caring and friendly service, superb hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AHotel Krebs is a medium sized 3-storey hotel with new renovation. Our family visited Switzerland for 17 days and stayed there for 7 nights between 19 and 26 Aug 2009. We loved the staff, the room, its food and its location. The staff services were impressive and we felt like at home. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
Location
Hotel Krebs is very close to Interlaken West rail station, a one-minute walk. The bus stop is just outside. Many shops are around, so is the supermarket. Its location is ideal for a trip to the nearby cities and towns like Bern, Spiez and Thun, or for a Thunersee boat cruise departing from the pier at Interlaken West. To visit the Jungfrau region, we had to change trains at Interlaken Ost (East) rail station, and that was the only slightly inconvenient thing that we found.
The staff were superb and were the best that we ever met in any hotel around the world that we had stayed, no doubt the best during our trip. Very friendly, caring and warm atmosphere. The always smiling staff were very polite and helpful, and served us well. Even our kids liked them a lot. We would like to thank them again for their services and giving us memorable moments. For this reason alone, we are considering coming back the next time.
Gastronomy
We were half-board (all 7 nights) and liked the dinners a lot. The stone grilled steak and fried salmon were especially impressive. Appetizers and desserts were also our favourites. Our kids loved the risotto. The hot and cold buffet breakfasts were also very good, with a lot of varieties. Smoked salmon was good and there were Asian food. The environment is clean and the services excellent.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room had internet access but we had not brought our own laptop; instead we used the free-of-charge shared internet computer in the hotel.
Room
We stayed in a suite (306). The room was modern and clean, with an impressive view of the snowy mountains. Although the suite was not very big and we had two kids, we felt very comfortable. The room had everything you would expect - TV, minibar, safe, hair dryer, etc. We liked the bathroom and its modern, new facilities. Our kids loved the room so much that they did not want to leave the room.
Tips and recommendations
You would need to bring your electrical adapter, as the room only had Swiss style electrical scokets. We did bring two adapters and were trouble free charging our digital camera and camcorder.
