The food is higly recommended if you can get a reservation. Good breakfast. Modern furnishings in room, family run hotel, nice touches like the fruit and water in the room. Quite a big room. The major negative is the darned church bells - and that seems to be endemic to that part of border area. Fortunately, they do not ring throughout the night. I think they had tea in the room but I'm not sure

Triesenberg is not in the middle of things down at Vaduz nor up at Malbun but its perfectly located right next to the main bus stop and centrally located in the village. For us it was a great location.Pretty much if you wanted to go anywhere you had to take a bus, and if you wanted to shop, you'd have to do it in Vaduz or in Sargans. The views were beautiful

The hotel was clean, well looked after, good breakfast, nice room. I think fewer people spoke english than in other locations. Hotel was very reasonably priced too. I think this was the least expensive of the hotels on our trip.

The restaurant food was not cheap, but oh was it good. Quite possible to eat superb food as a vegetarian and as a non-veggie. Views from the restaurant were marvellous.

Sport & Entertainment Unused

We didn't use any of the facilities if there were any.
We hiked up at Malbun Sareiserjoch, at Hoher Kasten http://www.hoherkasten.ch/ and we left on the 3rd day... so we really didn't have a lot of time but as hikers it was a good choice for us

we liked our room. It seemed quite big. It had everything we wanted but we were undemanding in our wants - it was clean, lots of space for our clothes and luggage. We liked the shower. Other people may not. We were thrilled that they had a lift. Very good value for money.

Tips and recommendations

The restaurant serves well regarded food, but reservations can be hard to get. It is not cheap but it is good food, and we were not disappointed. We like to hike. They have excellent bus service. It was a good location for going to Malbun. Getting to Hoher Kasten was complicated - so much so the sbb guy couldn't believe the changes required for the journey. That is also an amazing place. The walk down is unbelievably strenuous... and beautiful. In Vaduz you can purchase a visitor's pass that lets you into the swimming pool and gives you half price or free on the buses and into the museums. Its well worth looking into before you get there. It was a good choice for us because we only had 3 days and we wanted to do 2 major hikes and travel by bus. If you didn't have these kind of things in mind, it might not work so well for you but if you like hiking consider staying here.
