An absolute gem
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThis is a lovely family run hotel, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The owners are attentive and welcoming and nothing is too much. All the staff (front desk, breakfast room, cleaners..) are friendly and happy to go out of their way to help make your stay memorable. The rooms are spacious, airy and bright and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet offers a traditional continental breakfast and is well stocked offering amongst other things a variety of fruit, joghurts, cereals and lovely breads, cheeses and ham.
The hotel just feels warm, confortable and welcoming from the moment you walk in. It is also located in a very quiet residential area which means you are guaranteed a good nights sleep.
Location
The hotel is located near to Schloss Nymphenburg, which is a delightful castle set in beautiful grounds; ideal for strolling in after a good meal at the nearby restaurants such as the upmarket Schwaige or more traditional Hirschgraten, both in walking distance from the hotel. The tram is a few minutes away which takes you into the heart of Munich within 20mins or so. There is a nearby bus stop with regular buses to the station for trains into Munich. There are supermarkets, chemists, coffee shops and various other shops about 5 mins walk from the hotel.
All staff are friednly and helpful. The front of house staff speak English and are happy to help with any queries and also happy to offer advice as to what to do and see in the area and are quick to suggest excursions etc.I travelled with my 12 month old baby and subsequenly aagian a year later and they put a lovely little cot in our room and also arranged a baby sitter for one evening. It was never a problem when I needed to wash out my babies bottles nor when I needed his dinner warmed up. I was never made to feel a nuisance. It made it all so much easier and relaxing. As to how the hotel handles complaints - I wouldnt know as I have never had one to make!
Gastronomy
The hotel offers a breakfast buffet which offers all you could want in the morning. The breakfast room itself is clean and has a nice relaxed atmosphere (until my son Thomas makes his entrance!)
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room
I have stayed in a double room and in the family room, both of which are good sizes. The beds are big and comfortable. There is a little mini bar in all the rooms and also a TV and telephone. The bathroom is a good size and as with everything else spotlessly clean.
Tips and recommendations
This hotel is a top value hotel, offering all you would expect from a small family run hotel and more. The location is fantastic with easy access to Munich if you want to spend time exploring this historical cultural city but is also well placed to get out in to the lovely countryside and to some lakes for swimming.
All in all I cannot praise this hotel enough.
