Good starting point for the Geneva region *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe decided that this is now the second time to stay in a hotel 'Le Bristol'. As you can see from the previous Hotel reviews, we had already spent a couple of days in this hotel in June 2010. I would now not at all and refer to my previous review.
on Easter, we wanted to enjoy the mild climate on Lake Geneva. Since the hotel in Montreux and surrounding area very overpriced offers, we opted for another stay in the 'Le Bristol'. about the TUI this time there are again a half-board package. I came on a return visit to use ten percent early booking discount, so I just 150 euro per person for a double room including half board could enjoy the hotel. The cleanliness of the restaurant has a very good price!
Unlike the last stay we received a double room to the garden side with a partial view of the valley. The noise through the line was lower than in the room directly to the side of the road.
The corner room was very spacious and had a large balcony. Big Plus: Daylight.
The quality of the evening meal in my opinion from last stay easily deteriorated. It was served a four course menu. When submitting a extra charge was due. There was nothing to complain about the abundance.
The mountains in Villars was difficult due to time of year. Only the Bretaye was open. All other cable cars, in-ollon, were already closed. In Les diablerets were the classic gondolas after isenau and the glacier to glacier 3000 still open. However, was now in the month April in the rate no free use of equipment. This is a stay for example a clear advantage in June, is also apparent in the budget.
The lake is reachable Villars quite comfortable. Montreux and Vevey can be reached within half an hour drive. You need a bit longer to Lausanne. Highly recommended is the drive through the scenic lavaux, along the mountain terraces from Vevey in Lausanne.
Again to the hotel: the relatively small indoor pool and sauna area was used only by few guests. A stay was quiet and relaxing corresponding there.
If you decide for the hotel, you have to know, that in this hotel Indian groups stay (last year). The Indian guests do not use the restaurant, but were fed in separate premises. We had nice conversation with the Indian guests. However, with their presence, but it was a basic sense of volume in the garden or in the lobby of the hotel. If you stay here noise sensitive, should refrain from making a booking.
Overall the hotel is taking into account the price/performance ratio absolutely recommendable.
