Charming, central hotel, free parking *

In March 2009 for a 3 days stay I stayed at this hotel in New Orleans. I won Priceline. It is on the edge of the French Quarter, so you can feel safe at night, but it is in a quiet location and in a few minutes walk you are in the heart of the action. The hotel is a bit dated and it shows. Just returned this makes it but more charm than a new box with 08/15-style décor. The rooms are pretty small (by US standards in Central Europe if they absolutely average of its size) and with the usual US-standard furnished. Everything was clean and neat, but not very modern. Pleasant I found that the windows open. Air conditioning is of course still available. Also the hallways do look a bit dark and with nooks and crannies, but this is nothing! The free parking is secure, but it seemed to not sufficient in number. The hotel has a small cozy central courtyard with pool, for breakfast or a snack. About the quality of the gastronomy, I can't say I didn't use it. A bit annoying: The room key is a real key which we also give you leave the hotel. I was not always sure if you not be a very different people would have been a hotel pass or similar. You had to at least not turf, only the own name them. It sometimes took a while to get your key and got. Otherwise the check in was quick and even before formal time possible. any problems with the service at the reception or in the room there was no. New Orleans is a great city. The essence there will be reinforced if you want a hotel in the French Quarter. Therefore I would advise to a hotel here, but not one of the certainly mondäneren hotels in downtown.
