Pleasant All Inclusive near Corfu Town
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ARating four star but really a three plus. Large outdoor pool, separate kids area/ pool. Indoor/outdoor areas for breakfast, evening meals and drinks. Outdoor covered area for lunch. All inclusive menu with drinks and packed lunch if booked the night before. Mixed nationalities - mostly families with children. Bus stop at the bottom of the driveway to Gouvia, Dassia and Corfu Town. Easy to use automated ticket machines at bus stop. Hotel shop was poor with a limited range and it closed for afternoons. Entertainment typical package holiday style and we preferred to sit in the bar. Limited menu on Sundays. Basic rooms were large and clean, with balcony. Pool towels available for a deposit. Safe available at 3.50E day. Fridge in room.
Location
The beach is the biggest let down as it's only a six foot strip of sand. The water is murky and we didn't swim. Also disappointing in that you can't walk along the beach front to Gouvia or Corfu Town. It goes no-where really. You can walk to Corfu Town down the road and join the path by the cruise ships. It is about 3km and takes 30 minutes. The bus is better at 1.30E single. It was nice to be near the town and we made two trips there and other people went for evening entertainment, but being all inclusive we stayed at the hotel. There is a supermarket opposite and nearby but not much else. The best bit is the lovely gardens around the property and the indoor/outdoor eating areas. We booked two excursions - by far the best was a day trip on Theo's boat which was lots of fun. You could probably use local transport to get to the places visited on the other trip we booked - Thomson's Simply Corfu.
The reception staff spoke English but some were more helpful than others. Sometimes we felt like we were disturbing the staff by asking questions. They were however, very helpful with bus times and spoke excellent English. The rep told us the wrong time to order pack lunches and we heard one couple were refused because they were too late (it's 6.30pm the previous night). We met the housekeeper on one occasion and she was friendly. The room was cleaned well and fresh bottled water left every day, although the tea/coffee wasn't always replaced each day.

There is one main restaurant where breakfast and dinner is served. Lunch is served under a covered area near the pool. The bar opens at 5pm but the bar near the pool is open all day and there's a bar near the beach. Drinks on the all inclusive were available from self-serve dispensers and were very lively - expect half drink half froth. Cocktails were ready made in jugs but served by staff at the bar. Plastic cups only outside. Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate machines were also available by the pool. Breakfast was a mix of breads, meats, cheese, cooked food like eggs, pancakes... You could make your own coffee/ hot chocolate with warm milk or be served coffee in a pot. Lunch was pizza, chips and salads with cakes and ice cream all day. Snacks (after 3pm) was left over lunch and not so warm. Dinner was varied but with one pasta and one potato dish, salad, cakes, ice creams. Menus were displayed outside the restuarant each day. Self- service buffet style but drinks were served at the table (or help yourself). Not coffee/ tea was served with dinner.
Sport & Entertainment
I've rated this four star for the pool - large, well kept, plenty of free sun loungers and kep clean. The leisure activities were volleyball, darts, tennis, aqua aerobics and others. Expect to be pestered if you're sat around the pool with reps trying to get you to take part. Typical evening entertainment - kids disco, greek dancing but not very interesting. Internet access available in the lobby.
Room
We had a large triple room with 3 beds. The bathroom was a decent size with plenty of space for wash bags. No toiletries are provided but push-pump dispensers with soap/ wash gel are on the wall and the shower wall. TV provided World News and some English channels in the evenings. The best bit for my mum was the kettle which was provided with tea/ coffee/ milk every day. The fridge was great and a free bottle of water was left every day. Plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. A large balcony with pull out drying rack for wet towels and bathers. The room could use a little updating but everything worked and was clean and tidy.
Tips and recommendations
If you have children and want a beach holiday I would recommend a different hotel. This place is great for the easy access to Corfu Town, but there is really only the pool and garden if you are at the hotel - nothing else nearby. The biggest disappointment for me was not being able to stroll along the coast in the evenings, especially with not enjoying the entertainment. There were however lots of lovely seating areas around the property - take a good book or two or make friends and spend the evenings chatting.
