It was enough for us to sleep *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is rather large and offers various possibilities of leisure activities (indoor swimming pool, spa, etc. ). Also, it is also possible to the hotel Metropol attached casino to attend and use. The cleanliness of our room was fine, but the cleaning staff more to detail, for example, the mirror in the bathroom easy smeared and at the edge to sink were splashing water visible. Breakfast disappointing because not offered local dishes and the offer was generally rather manageable. There was a type of cheese and various sorts of: no ham, however. were fruit and yogurt, but as fruit was unfortunately out of a tin. Plus side, so that we often in Slovenia, as we have family out and therefore the lanndestypische food and we appreciate that. Thus, we found it was a shame that local dishes not advertised. The guest structure consisted of an older clientele, which was for end of season but not surprising.
Location
The hotel is very centrally located in Portoroz and in order to get to the beach you just need to cross the street. Unfortunately there was no sandy beach, but is known for the Adriatic coast. Portoroz with a wealth of shopping opportunities in the form of small boutiques and also a drugstore is available. We were thrilled when I can the neighboring town Piran (approx. 3,5 km) highly recommend. This is a small, quaint fishing village with quaint streets and a very nice bay a deep blue water.
The receptionist at check-in was very friendly and was able to give us a room offer (we did not make reservation and were spontaneously looking for a place to stay). About the foreign language skills I can't say anything, since we had the Slovenian language and us with a lady in Slovenian. Later when we wanted a second key card to the room, however it was another man at the front desk was friendly, again but a lot more seemed annoyed from our Please. They also made a very intimidating impression. The staff at breakfast was very hard, but rather overstrained havel and partly listless.
Gastronomy
As mentioned above describe the breakfast was rather scant. Unfortunately, we didn't use the bar in the hotel.
Sport & Entertainment
Over the pool I can't say anything, since we didn't use. But I would recommend the nearby casino to visit to the hotel Metropol. It was really fun.
Room
The room was for 3 people, and accordingly large. Also a balcony with a view of the ocean was provided. The furniture was functional and clean, but the design somehow reminded of a hospital. Unfortunately, there wasn't a minibar. Although we had a TV, was the selection of German channel on Pro7 limited. Because there were many Italian channels tells me that this hotel rather Italians houses. As mentioned above, the room was overall clean, only minor problems were to complain about.
Tips and recommendations
The general price-performance ratio was rather bad since we for bed and breakfast 180 € paid. I had a little more comfort expected for the price, probably because I am used to it from Slovenia otherwise.
