Hotel Luna Alvôr Village

We found the location good because we had a rental car for our entire stay and just walked to the village in the evening. ( About 10 -15 minutes) Alvor indeed interesting entertainment possibilities in the evening (bars and taverns with live music, tasty restaurants with grilled fish) which were distributed to a few streets. On the harbor promenade are more bars, however, mainly visited during the day. Evening was clearly less going on here than in the town center. If you'd like to explore the surrounding area, you should have rented a car. (mobile sat nav because orientation didn't always come) tip for the evening: sports cafe and Bolan bar (tasty Caipirinha for 3 , - EUR) to the beach, we had to walk a few minutes more; a bus transfer was offered too, but we never used it but because of the rental car.

The reception staff was mostly very friendly. Almost all staff members spoke a little German, and we could well communicate in English. However, our complaint regarding the cleanliness in the room and the whirlpool (see Note above) was taken note of but remained without any effects.

When we really liked the atmosphere in the dining room or on the outdoor terrace, dar we both breakfast and dinner always sat outside. Due to the relatively low Number of rooms in the hotel, there was no bustle, no crowd and a pleasantly quiet atmosphere during the meals. The quality of the food was okay, in our opinion, even though you shouldn't expect culinary highlights. Compared to other big 4 star hotels, the choice was smaller, and we, for example, missed dishes freshly prepared before the eyes of the guests. We almost always something tasty.

A rental car is from our view definitely recommendable. We rent a from Faro airport. For all calls we only used our cell phones as calls the room would have been much more expensive.
