Das Marina Phuket ist unserer Meinung nach das schönste Hotel am Karon Beach. Es liegt inmitten eines gigantischen, wunderschön angelegten tropischen Garten. Man sollte beachten, dass sich das Hotel nicht direkt am Strand, sondern auf einer kleinen Anhöhe befindet. Je nach Lage des Zimmers sind es ca. 3-5 Gehminuten zum Strand. Die Verbindungswege des Hotels führen meist über Holzstege, welche sich sehr schön in den tropischen Garten einfügen. Der Strandabschnitt unterhalb des Marina Phuket ist traumhaft schön, da er sich am Ende des langgezogenen Karon Beach befindet und von kleinen Felsformationen eingesäumt wird. Schnorchler kommen hier voll auf Ihre Kosten. Wir haben hier z. B. einen Rochen, Rotfeuerfisch, Kugelfisch... gesehen! Schade ist, dass es am Karon Beach keine Restaurants direkt am Strand gibt (sind durch die stark befahrene Uferstraße getrennt). Außerdem wird die Schönheit des Strandes durch ein Meer von Plastikliegen und Sonnenschirmen etwas getrübt. Aber wer nach Phuket geht muss damit rechnen, dass man hier nicht die "Ruhe" wie z. B. in Khao Lak findet!
