Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is huge, the lobby is on the 8. top and travel bag it is hard to get to. On a keyboard there is the desired floor (not everybody elevator stops on each floor) - there are mostly a number of persons. Only if this elevator missed the next notified. There are plenty of lifts, which was very quick drive, but with travel bag enter, requires patience. The lobby seemed like a department store, a bit plush, huge, impersonal and dark.
Location
The location is perfect, right at time sqaure. So we have booked this hotel - more on this later. Shopping, theater, musicals, Rock Cafe - everything next door. The Undergroundstation can be reached in 3 minutes, Central Park 15 minutes on foot.
Since we Christmas & New Year 14 days here, we asked at check-in, if there was a room with a view of the Time Square with "Balldropblick" (white ball for New Year's Eve) will receive. This was on the day of arrival. The New Year's Eve Balldropblick would 2000 US$ extra costs was arrogant told us. Our room food. an office was dark, so the next day we have a room on the 39th. Floor with a view of the Time Square, for US$50 night surcharge), which changed. A great view, unfortunately in the wrong direction. As a matter of fact costs a room for New Year's Eve $1.800US . We were huge disappointed from the hotel, as we wanted to see the ball drop. There was also a reception for US$ 750 per person, and a menu in the restaurant at similar price - otherwise there was no way to get in touch with the spectacle be seen from the hotel. As the masses have hired 2005/06 8 hours before and my daughter panic middle of such crowds , we spent the New Year's eve in front of the television. My daughter got an e-mail to Christmas communicated to the hotel, with the request for notification to us. I don't know the service from other hotels, that these printed, mostly is still a envelope see them in the room. The Marriott has this mail to my email sent presented at the time of booking, so we only got back to gain in Germany (wish was a Christmas present). Internet was unfortunately not for free and I with 10 US$ per 24 hours to expensive.

Room
The second room was large with two huge beds. Everything was clean, also the bathroom was decent. The coffee maker were more than willing to be used by us, on some days they forgot refill coffee, but the cleaning staff was coffee out on request. There was a safe, the mini-bar I missed. Unfortunately, the room was extremely clairaudient, when the guests and right above us going to the toilet and showered, heard details.
