Hotel Melia Golf Vichy Catalan

The hotel is appropriate traffic-favorably, only about for 10 minutes of the airport Girona to reach (almost exclusively with Ryanair), in the proximity of the highway direction Barcelona (approx. 85 km removes). Also one reaches the beautiful small town Girona fast and uncomplicatedly (at the best over the exit Girona SOUTH start). Also one reaches the sea in 25 minutes (Lloret de Mar is not far away and who did not see the “nightlife district” on Mallorca yet, here same clientele finds: -)).

The staff was always friendly, but not importunate. Spaniards are sometimes simply a little more chaotic than we Germans: -)) Importantly to know it is that one is in “Catalunya” and not in Spain!! One hears rarely the Spanish language, but is understood one everywhere - also with English one comes through everywhere well.

There was only one restaurant and a bar (there one sat however in the bright “searchlight beam” and a beer has 5, -- € cost, which was totally too expensive! ). The restaurant, which is the breakfast restaurant at the same time, is likewise quite modern furnished. In the summer one can have breakfast on the terrace and eat probably also outside. The half-board menu, which we ate in one evening, was innovative and very tasty. The price was with 29, -- € for the menu also more than appropriately - a large bottle (1l) water cost only 2.60 €.

The hotel is a Golfresort, which lies in the midst of of 2 very beautiful golf courses, which one should have played both. The STAGES Course is very recommendable, there took place 2009 the Spanish open and it ranks among the best places in Spain. Also the ROUTE Course and on the fast Grüns becomes the Putten is very beautiful the challenge. Some water obstacles require a few balls more than otherwise…. All coworkers of the golf course were very friendly and kommunikativ. The Spa range is not really a SPA. Here 2 “experience showers” concern a small range with a Finnish sauna (rather of the size of a Home sauna), a steam bath, an ice well and (we did not find the experience real!! ). In addition there is a small pool with about 3 x 4 square meter and unites nozzles. Daylight gave it unfortunately none and worked everything in such a way a little to “moldy” - also covering one must divide with the conference toilets - a file for the clothes gave it also not, but that was not so bad. Due to the moldy Spa range “only” 5 suns are distributed here - the golf courses are worth however 6 suns!!

The hotel has beautifully equipped rooms either to the back (direction parking lot/Driving rank) as standard room (everything without balcony), which is very roomy and modern or forward to the pool and to 18. Course route of the Course with balcony and bathrobes. Our room was clean and maintained and also during the stay was constantly properly cleaned.

The Golfresort can be recommended in any case - however one should not measure the 5 stars at 5 stars - my judgment is it 4 stars. For all Golfer: Who on high level gulf plays would like - off to the PGA Catalunya Golfresort.
