Beautiful hotel *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel is located on a beautiful bay in the south-east of the island of Crete. But have to get on a long ride from Heraklion to adjust to Makri Gialos. We were 3 hours on the journey, as we seven hotels on the route and guests have dropped. On the way back it was only three hotels and we were after 2 1/2 hours at the airport. We used the 120 km, but as sightseeing tour and found the time not a problem. The north of the island has different impressions as the southeast with its not for the tourism has been converted into town and mountain pueblos. As I had already often in Crete was ( also backpacker) I was in the first moment by the large reception hall and the for me not Greek-style setting a bit shocked. This was done but then at the latest, when we got to our family rooms ( living room + a bedroom) arrived and saw the views in the bay ( wow ... ). To the rooms I can only say: great. Be warned though you at time of booking. There are a variety of family rooms in the categories of different travel agencies apparently not respected. Family rooms, family rooms with an extra bedroom or two additional bedrooms. All rooms are well "Huge" and the terraces didn't leave anything to be desired. The houses are three floored. The best view in the bay you on the third floor. On the lower floor you see the front house. The undermost house has direct access to the swimming pools. We stayed in the fifth row on the third floor and had a breathtaking view. Our short but steep was accordingly atemraubender way ( very steep) to the beach and the pool's ( but there are also elevators with which you can immediately and climb up the load). The area is very kid friendly, but it wasn't disturbing or very noisy. Recommendation: child friendly one should however already. The kitchen: I was very, very pleasantly surprised. There was something for everyone and the everything as plentiful that they always adhered to the scales felt at home. There was mostly fish, lamb and pork, always pasta ( Greek and Italian), vegetables, fruit and and and ... The offered "inclusive wine" was unfortunately not to our taste. There were juices, water, Coke, Fanta, Sprite, beer and various drinks. However, we missed coffee in the dining room. The coffee was available but it is only at the pool bar. A shame! We also used the service of a birthday cake. The cake was brought to the room. Sadly the but not with the drinks ( coffee). Knives, plates and silverware were yours. Here one could the service even a bit complete. The Inklusivliegen were never busy and very clean, as well as the whole area and the super-sandy beach. The only complaint is that the pool chairs from autumn wasn't more free to offer, as I could see from the internet presentations. Water: clean, clear and suitable for kids. No rocks, only fine sand and not steep. The animation team was very good and never intrusive. The shows in the Arena were great ( and everything in German). We have visited a tavern in the next bay. About ten minutes walk away (very nice, but there it was the same house wine, as in the hotel). In the village are also nice tavernas with courteous service. The taverns you should definitely visit. We are also after Pefki backpacking and enjoyed a decorative grape arbor/tavern. The Greek hospitality is really warm welcome and you feel at ease. On the street it was about 7 kilometers. There are about 600 meters to overcome. You can also go on a few walks around a gorge after Pefki. Unfortunately we didn't find the right start. Only a taxi driver showed us later the way. Also Highly recommend the walk through the gorge "Valley of death". Here you would walk around 1 hour. You can visit excavations concerned below and in different taverns ( we have chosen the first taverna. The food was very good but not cheap. If the following tavernas would have been cheaper we didn't checked). The famous palm beach "Vai" was not quite what we expected, but it should have been seen. Highly recommended are also numerous tavernas, Kafenion in the surrounding mountain pueblos. Here you can take a dip in the real Greece. In short, I would it in this hotel and area much longer. Weather: below in the south east is the weather not identical to the north. It was considerably warmer and nicer than the forecasts for Crete ( there are high mountains in between)
