Nettes Hotel inmitten der historisichen Altstadt von Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Im Umkreis von wenigen hundert Metern findet man die feinsten Restaurants und hippe Bars ... Parrot Club, Dragon Fly, Ristorante Fratelli, Baru, Cafe Puerto Rico (gutes und preiswertes Mittagessen). Am Wochenende Hangout für die Schönen und Reichen von Puerto Rico (bei nur 5, 5 Mio Einwohnern die meisten Miss World weltweit). In wenigen Minuten erreicht man zu Fuß die alten Befestigungsanlagen der Spanier, El Moro und Fort San Critobal. Zum zweitgrößten Kreuzfahrthafen der Welt (nach Miami) sind es ca. 200m. Am Ende der Calle Fortaleza, hier befindet sich auch das Hotel, haben sich zahlreiche Outletgeschäfte angesiedelt. Als Drogenumschlagplatz hat Puerto Rico eine hohe Kriminalitätsrate. Hiervon ist man aber in der Regel als Tourist nicht betroffen. Old San Juan hat eine sehr sichtbare Polizeipräsenz und gilt für Besucher als absolut sicher. Auf dem Dach des Hotel gibt es ein Panoramarestaurant mit (noch) gutem Ausblick und puertoricanischem Home Cooking. Delikat fanden wir "Shrimp a la Milano" oder so ähnlich. Hier gibt es auf kostenloses Wlan, das aber leider nicht bis in die Zimmer reicht. Durch die zentrale Lage sind nicht alle Zimmer ganz leise, besonders am Wochenende. Wir haben deshalb ein "Innenzimmer" genommen mit zwar nur kleinen Oberlichtern, aber dafür absolut ruhig.
