Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe booked this hotel as a 4 stars hotel, but it is far away of 4! The personal is the only thing that makes it a bit less terrible. The room is very small, very old, not clean (even spiders on the corners!) , old carpets, old furniture, closets also dirty, Matrazes absolutely old, cheap and uncomfortable and the worst at all for a 39 degrees Summer: The air condition is controled by a central and it works only from 3PM to 5 AM. If you want to relax or take a nap during the day, you simply can't because it's to hot! We complained hard and it has changed from 3 PM to 9 AM. Still not nice for a 4 stars! The toilet was also a big problem, dirty , old, very small, with mould! The shower didn't work properly!
Location
The outside area was ok at the first sight, but not anymore at the second. The beach is not a beach for non swimmers and we have to pay 5 euros for having a sunbed! The sister hotel besides (Minos Mare Royal) said as a 5 stars, let the guests using it for free! The pool of our hotel was also a place for all the activities with the animators (very loud but very rare by the way) and we try to be at their pool as the area looks accessible for everyone but we couldn't. A worker came and basically send us away! Just to be clear there no sight warning we couln't!
Most of the workers at the reception were very friendly but could not in fact help us! They send someone to fix the shower and it was already broken the next day again, sent someone to clean the spiders (!) and programed the airconditioner to work until 9 AM instead of only until 5!
Gastronomy
The beach restaurant was fine with good prices, nice food and friendly waiters. A bit strange, though, that every day, something else was not available from the menue. for us, just another proof that the hotel could not keep up with the four stars - they are missing a professional management that ensures quality throughout all the details. The evening buffet and breakfast was not that bad. Cold food and some variety for warm, something diferent everyday. Dessert was poor and juices tasted terrible only good when we ordered fresh! Breakfast was ok.
Sport & Entertainment
Animation very rare and mainly improvised, nothing exactly for kids, beach and pool as described before. If you substract a sea that is too wild for kids, a playground that is in plain sun and an animation that is less than basic, the hotel does not offer too much for families with kids or younger people.
Room
Old, small, uncomfortable, dirty, aircondition poor! and, they offer upgrades to bett rooms on laminated paper in every room. Pretty ironic, we think. matches with what he have found in other reviews, though. nit sure what kind kind of policy this is from the management of the hotel. we have found much better rooms in one or none stars hotels.
Tips and recommendations
Do not book this hotel if you want more than a bed to sleep! - And even this can be painful... waking up 5:30 with a felt 35 degrees in the room is not pleasant at all.
