Deluxe Hostel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AMinotel Bantu is honestly speaking rather a deluxe hostel than a luxury boutique hotel which you expect when you pay some 130 USD a night.
I booked a single room but upon arrival it turned out that the single rooms were overbooked and I got the more expensive "President's Suite" which of course I had to pay.
The Suite is just spacious, that's it. The bedroom had a wet and unclean floor and no closet. Breakfast was served in the room, but only 1 cup of coffee was allowed, could not keep the coffee can, just ridiculous!

They washed 2 T-shirts and one Polo and charged me 16 USD! Then, the Polo was redyed and no longer wearable!! I had to pay the 16 USD since "it was not their fault, but the fault of their EXTERNAL LAUNDRY service" and if I don't pay they have to pay it off from their salary. Never heard that before ! Well, I decided to leave my polo, contacted the hotel direction and asked them to refund me the money or send me a new polo shirt, they told me they will find a solution and contact me when I am back in Europe.
Obviously, they never contacted me, although I sent them 2 reminders....
To sum up, the prices are far too high, the service DOES NOT COMPLY WITH INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS, although the employees are friendly and the place is more or less safe!
Gastronomy
Breakfast was delicious, you can choose between different options, but since it is pretty warm already early in the morning the best option is a tropical breakfast with lots of fresh fruits in the court.
I haven't tried the restaurant but the cocktails which were not really convincing although it took them a while to prepare. The dining room is very small and looks more like a cocktail bar. You can find a lot of good places where you can have dinner just around the corner.
