Vor Antritt der Reise waren unsere Erwartungen nicht all zu hoch. Hatten die Reise recht günstig bei reisebesser. de gebucht und gingen von einer Familienpension aus. Dort angekommen wurden wir überrascht: Das Hotel wurde erst Ende 2003 komplett renoviert, so dass z. B. das Bad sehr groß und sauber war. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer war auch toll: Große bequeme Betten, Klimaanlage, TV und Seidentapeten. Lediglich die Größe des Zimmers war recht dürftig. Meines Erachtens entsprachen die Zimmer eher der 4-Sterne-Kategorie. Von außen sah das Hotel wie ein Palast aus. Das beste am Hotel war die Lage: Zum Hauptbahnhof, dem Stazione Centrale sind es etwa 300 m, zum Ponte Vecchio etwa 500 m, da das Hotel sich in der Altstadt von Florenz befindet. Das Hotel kann aufgrund der tollen Lage, als tolle Basis für Ausflüge nach Siena, Pisa oder Lucca genutzt werden.
