Hotel Mythos Palace

The hotel Mythos Palace was situated directly at a street with much traffic which connected Chania with Rethymnon. In the rooms to the street, the night ended at 6 am and there was a moderate volume from 1 am on. At the weekend, you had peace for two hours more.
The ocean and the beach directly adjoined to the hotel at its back, it was about 150 meters away. The area extended over two wings with each 3 stories.
Shopping possibilities could be found in the "town" Kabros. There, car rental companies and taverns followed one another mainly as well as a gas station and some minimarkets. The next town was about 5 kilometers away. The way there could be combined with a walk at the beach.

Also here: Friendliness was important at the reception. The same thing applied to staff of the restaurant apart from a few exceptions. The professionality and the friendliness descreased quickly when going in direction of the beach. In the so-called beach bar you had the feeling of being rather a burden than a guest.
The room cleaning was all right, you got fresh towels and they swept the room at least. But you still got the impression that the staff didn't like its work and they didn't really took care of the guest's wishes.

There was a restaurant in which you were catered at a buffet. Cleanliness and hygiene were all right. The cuisine was international. The quality of the dishes certainly didn't correspond to 4 or 5 stars. Rather 3 stars. Quantity didn't help there. The choice of the dishes was also very limited and they constantly repeated. The food wasn't that well seasoned, salt seemed to be inexistent in the kitchen, but fat was very popular.
The same thing applied to the beach bar which was liable to costs. There, it was very impudent to demand money for the food, it just tasted bad.

The pool was too small but neat. The quality of the pool chairs was also all right. The entertainment was discreet and they accepted it if you didn't want to take part in the activities. The beach was really very beautiful, however, the beach chairs were liable to costs, also with all inclusive. The ocean was very clean and flat at that place.

The rooms had an average size. The furnishings were quite spartan and not appropriate. There was a modern flat screen TV, but the bed was extremely hard, you had to use the blankets in stock as a mat. The air-conditioning cooled the room well, but it smelt when the air-conditioning was on. The bathroom was really disappointing. There was mold in the shape of black spots in the porose joints and there was no real functioning drain. I couldn't understand why they had fitted the toilet only 30 cm away from the wall, you nearly had to sit on it diagonally.
