Location
Our opinion top location! Centrally located and yet peaceful. Transport connection very good. By car from the motorway A7 motorway, then this to spend time in the 14 most popular… Ring (n46), the 2 . Rijksweg (N360) take exit and go cke, will go over in the Damsterdiep and continue until big crossing, turn right there in the Petrus Campersingel, good 60 meters turn left into the Oostersingeldwarsstraat and keep left hanzeplein. Parking the car in the garage is very good from the diagonally across the UC Davis hospital UMCG. We stayed for the time Friday afternoon until Monday morning (before 9 am! ) Paid 10 euros! To accomplish this, to be on the Monday morning at the reception before 9am parking ticket identification and €10 to charge anything to your / pay cash. At the reception you get another ticket. The car in the garage can stay in a later and you pick up/parking garage entrance to the hospital with these tickets to information (centrally in entrance) and paid for the rest of the parking fee for the remaining hours, for us it was for the period from 9 - about 11 pm €3.50 . Cycling GREAT! The hotel's own rent bikes or take!! Groningen is a Fahrradstadt! Due to the close proximity to the hotel to the city center, within walking distance to lots of destinations quickly reached, but Groningen not only the Grand Place and the Fishmarket with as well as neighboring city. It's worth it to bike to explore the area, p. tips.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, we got along with German very well, only very rarely was English. Because, unfortunately we don't speak dutch. There were so many good information and. Room cleaning and the cleanliness of the hotel in general was ok, only the smell in the hallway was pushy, but in the room that was nothing more to be felt.
Gastronomy
Breakfast was a good buffet, however as it usually outside Germany, without wholemeal bread / black bread. The short time you can also fine without, because otherwise you had a decent selection, whether scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage, cheese, ham, yogurts, cereal, milk, juices, fruit salad, thawed raspberries (tasted mostly intensive than fresh), various Weißbrotsorten, also croissants, and a small apple pie and small Blätterteigstücke. Tomatenstücke it did, but from aqueous tomatoes and it offered, they are a bit acclimatise cheese, the cooling table it's duty very well done. Coffee (diverse sorts of tea and hot milk), you could also serve yourself from a machine, the service staff was easy and fast. Cocoa powder and various teas were available. Also fruit juices and cold milk. Please note: the breakfast area is air-conditioned, a cloth or something to move about it cannot go wrong, because there is also a bit of above (we had blisteringly hot around 30°C). We didn't try the restaurant, were in the city center.

Room
If you like a view, the higher floors prefer mention (just for booking). Our room 602 had a good view of the city center. Very spacious rooms with air-conditioning (important for us, as from midday sunny side and outside temperature was about 30°C in the shade). Very well-equipped and clean. In the closet a immediately accessible, free safety box. Pillows can be selected, we didn't use it. Spacious bathroom with sufficient Waschtischablage items, so you could also from the bog unpack. Cocoa, coffee or tea possible (6 cups), after the next service refilled. No mini bar, but in the hallway the possibility, from a machine a cold beer, soft drinks or a Knabberei. Wine not included. For a fee, I mean for the $5US - Offers a range of food or drinks brought to our room.
Tips and recommendations
Cycling and explore the area! In addition to best buy a map at VVV (tourist office, right on the front of the Grote Market located while walking to and from hotel, the small Citypläne can give a way). The Falk-Stadsplattegrond from Gronigen €4.95 , the well worth it when you want to make excursions by bike. We were for example. In the Park Norderplantsön (northwest of the city) and they have a great summer evening enjoyed on a blanket on the water, is to picnic ... Then we have a day trip with the wheels through the train station (worth seeing the lobby and be fooled by the many storage for bicycles) and over the extensive biking trails on the Noord-Willemskanaal Hoornse to the sea. This is not quite up to the plan listed, but you can always go back around the "sea view" around the everything important information boards, give. The NORTHEASTERN "sea", is car-free, from south and west back you drove most of the times at the street. There are the bathing beaches. I didn't give tips for restaurants, there are so many and often very good places to eat every caliber, whether outside or inside. But it was worth it for the "three brothers and sisters" to the Grote Market to look, three interconnecting bars, the very quaint. at all the bear, dance in Groningen evening in this area to the Grand Place. The department store V&D to the Grote Market offers a restaurant on the top floor which has also a terrace. A wide choice of food and drinks. We are a lunch from the heat escaped ...
