Hotel Novotel Bora Bora Beach Resort

The transfer from the airport took about 30 min. 20 min. by boat and 10 min. by hotel bus. The hotel was located by a very beautiful beach only seperated from the beach by the main street. To the right there was the hotel with the reception and bar. The restaurant and the diving basis were right by the beach. To the left there were the rooms, wonderfully built into the landscape. Next to the hotel there were the other hotels at an appropriate distance (Sofitel, Maithai and Intercontinental). 150 m from the hotel, you could find shopping possibilities at the local market, where you could buy everything. In the hotel Sofitel there were Polynesian shows on Mondays and Wednesdays, they began at 8:30pm. You could watch them at 6:30pm in the Maithai on Saturdays. The bus of the hotel cost 900 CFP franc, which was about 7.50 Euros round trip.

The friendliness in the hotel was super, to speak a bit of English was an advantage as no German was understood or spoken. There weren't any complaints as all our requests were immediately fullfilled. The room cleaning was very good, mostly already done in the hours of the morning. A doctor wasn't in the hotel but in Vaitape there was a big hospital and only 8 kilometers away from the hotel.

The hotel had a bar and a restaurant, we had half board which was completely sufficient. The breakfast was arranged in the form of a buffet, there were salami, ham, cheese, eggs and many other things. There were baguette and rolls as well as cakes and a huge fruit buffet. Scrambled eggs and fried eggs were made especially for the guest. The fresh juices were also very recommended. The dinner was great, it was offered in three courses and they served something different every day. The food was European in my opinion, the cleanliness and the hygiene were excellent. In the bar, you got 2 drinks from 5.30 to 6.30 pm and you only had to pay one.

In the hotel there was also an internet access, 1000 CPF about 9, Euro for 30min. No activities in this hotel, one could however book a lot of different things. Rent for example diving trips or a car, bicycle. A car costs 10000 CPF for 2 hours. about 90, Euro or a bicycle for 3000 CPF the day. Beach chairs were available, umbrellas only above at the pool, at the beach one had enough palms. The water and the beach were excellent in cleanliness, boutiques stores were in every hotel and at the main street.

The size of the room was adequate, you had a TV, hair dryer, kettle, air conditioning and telephone. The hair dryer had a plug for the normal socket, you didn't need an adapter. No German speaking TV available, only in French, the bed sheets were changed every day. A minibar was available where you could put your drinks in, coffee and tea were placed ready every day. You also had a beautiful terrace where you could relax.

We rented ourselves a pair of bicycles and toured around the island, which I only could recommend to everyone, it was very worth seeing and more beautiful than with the car. On the way there were several shopping markets where one could rest, one should start the route toward Club Met direction, since a small upward climb was there. Market prices, 1 beer 290 CPF 0, 5l, small 230 CPF, wine starting from 1000 CPF 0, 75 l, Baguette 150 CPF, postcard 80 CPF. Money exchange was possible in the airport Pappete, one could however exchnge a bit more otherwise there were more exchange charges. Otherwise in Vaitape at the cash machine and bank. Otherwise the markets Sundays sold no alcohol, whoever was thirsty could prepare in time. In the hotel a beer 0,33 cost 440 CPF and wine cost starting from 1800 CPF.
